Caravella Backpackers

So convenient, over the road from Muddies for play area and food, as well as walking. Cafe next door also excellent. Did not use shared kitchen but very well stocked with needs for future stays.

Hi, Room was spacious and air-conditioned rooms. Location is so close to town and waterfront. Could use TLC in the grounds, been a tough few years. Pool was good. I would go back ,is heavily booked.

Pleasing and nice. Don’t expect glamour sheets and luxury soap. Clean room and great staff. That’s all you need.

Very helpful owner, walking distance to everything, the pool.

The people living there were all degenerates, bums, losers etc. If you are a winner don’t go there. Don’t do it to yourself.

Basic but tidy Backpackers with a good pool and bathrooms. Super impressed with the staff who were really helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

It's very nice hotel located in front of the beach. You can wake up in the morning and go for running every day.

Beautiful quiet clean hostel next to small park on the waters edge. Restaurant, pool, courtyard, 2 kitchen areas, sheltered picnic tables. Probably best hostel in Cairns.

It was as clean and comfortable and all you would expect given the price. Central and easy to walk along the esplanade into the centre - it’s at the quieter end. Staff very helpful and polite. Added bonus of a pool.

Don’t like the PowerPoint placements and luggage storage is inconvenient and not safe as everyone has access to it.

My stay at Caravella hotel was lovely. Hotel is on great location, staff is friendly and helpful,,, I highly recommend.

Location is good. Lack of PowerPoints is a problem. The elephant on the next floor the walked round all night was a piss off.

The staff here are fantastic! The saline pool was cooly refreshing as it was hot during our stay. The grounds are filled with greenery. We stayed in Room 33, one of the single rooms with a shared bathroom. The afternoon sun made the room warm. The A/C unit was either high fan (cooling) or low fan (no cooling) making it difficult to efficiently use. As a first time hostel stay, it was better than we expected. We intentionally selected a site not geared for high entertainment and are thankful for the quiet hours starting at 11pm. P.S. The park across the street has a delicious restaurant. We brought back their cut fruit to store in the inroom fridge for breakfast.
