Discovery Parks - Mount Surprise

The cabins were clean and the beds very comfortable . The only downside was the pool was green, so the kids couldn't swim.

Didn’t end up staying as i have a snake phobia and there was a snake there the day before . Room wasn’t ready so after a discussion with hubby we decided to travel a few more hours and stayed in another motel . Expensive night as had to pay another motel but didn’t expect refund for my phobia

Good hotel in town

Property is ageing. No TV. Limited bench space.

All good apart from shower hard to regulate. Aprils pre clean was excellent

Our stay was very pleasant, the cabin was comfortable, it was all we needed, the shower area could have been a bit cleaner. Nice staff.

Filthy cups and mould in the shower. Shower head broken. Dirt in corners.

Godd sized rooms

This place pretends to be a venue from which you can visit Undara lava tubes. It is not. They are over 60kms away. The staff makes meals for tour groups but not other guests. The nearest restaurant is 60kms away. Staff do not check condition of rooms. They were working on our door locks for 2 hours while we wanted to shower.

We were delayed arriving at the Discovery Resorts, due to road delays, but were unable to raise anyone at the Discovery Resorts, partly due to network issues. When we got someone else to phone on our behalf, the office number wasn't answering. When we arrived, we could not raise anyone, and we had to take a room in the local Mount Surprise Hotel. Discovery Resorts apparently claimed that they had left the key and a message for us at the front door. There was one for Susan somebody, but nothing for us. Please ensure that we are not invoiced for this room.

Super clean room, it was great to walk in and find the aircon already on. The receptionist was really kind and polite.

It basically provides what you need. We got excellent service but would stay next time in the Discovery Resort directly in the location closer to the Lava tubes as it offers more if you intend to stay longer.
