My wife and I just spent 3 nights at Lotte's Cottage (December 2015), and from the moment we arrived - in 42 degree temperature - and were welcomed into the air conditioned cottage by Ken, through to the moment we left 3 days later, we could not have been happier with everything about the cottage. It is exactly as it looks in the pictures (perhaps even better), and provided an extremely comfortable, and well located base for exploring Broken Hill and surrounds.
Sure I could be picky and say the shower was a bit temperamental, or the toilet seat wouldn't stay up!? But I've experienced similar at 5 star hotel accommodation! And I think that illustrates the quality of this cottage, when it's all I can find fault with.
Erica visited to welcome us after finishing work on our first evening, and provided some nice insight into the history of the cottage. Both she and Ken were accessible next door if we needed them - which wasn't the case.
I can certainly recommend Lotte's Cottage to any visitor to Broken Hill. With three well equipped bedrooms there's plenty of room for a family.

Lotte's Cottage has all the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay. It is close to shops and the information centre. One slight draw back is the traffic noise from the passing cars.
