The alarm rang a few times when I was sleeping. I did not know how to turn it off, so I rang the hotel staff to come to pick up the alarm. No one came. Not enough lifts at the morning peak hours. Had to walk downstairs.

Hotel is good overall. But really requires a major refurbishing. Room carpet looks and feels dirty. Bathroom needs reno. Breakfast is great but most are greasy so needs some healthier leaner options. The best part is the staff and service. Before when I stayed here, the low price made it good value. But it’s now more expensive and there may be other options if better value.

Sydney Central Hotel turned out to be a surprisingly lovely stay. I have to admit, after reading some reviews I was a little nervous, but we were fortunate enough to receive an upgrade to a larger room, which was a great start. The room was clean, and parts—especially the bathroom—looked recently renovated. It would’ve been nice to have wine glasses in the room, and as it was our anniversary (which the hotel was aware of), a small acknowledgment would have been appreciated, though it seems that may have slipped their mind. The main downside was that our room was located right outside the pool area, which did get noisy at times. We had a balcony, but we couldn’t really use it as people at the pool could look straight in. Aside from that, everything else was generally positive. We did use the pool once, it’s lovely and warm but it can get crowded due to its small size. Overall, a pleasant stay with just a few minor drawbacks. We will definitely return again.

We really enjoyed our stay, the beds were super comfortable, the staff were wonderful, and the room service and breakfast options were delicious. There was only 1 thing that I would complain about - We tried to order from the "Sleepwalker" late night room service menu, which is stated to be available from 10pm to 6am, but it didnt seem to be available at all, which was dissapointing when we returned hungry from our night out at 2am. Otherwise everything was great and we will definitely stay here again !

On this occasion food from a previous guest was left in the fridge and there were no bags in the bins in the room. This was mentioned at checkout in which the desk staff apologised. Cleaning staff did appear to be hanging out talking in corridors rather than working on more occasion. I've stayed here many times in the past however this time was a bit average especially considering how expensive room prices are now.
