A real gem. Found online looking for a reasonably priced hotel between the airport and ship terminal in Brisbane the night before boarding a cruise. Staff welcoming and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable with a nice hot shower. The hotel is also located close to places to eat. Really surprised to discover they also have "pet-friendly" rooms—no pet smells at all in corridors or common areas and was quiet all night. If on a road trip, would be a great place to stay with our pup! Would be very happy to stay here again:).

The front counter staff were very welcoming and helpful, with wonderful customer service. The room was well appointed and clean and the bed was comfortable. Perhaps housecleaning could up its act a little. The bed was made up, as requested, but crumbs on the floor were not vacuumed and a cleaning cloth was left on a bedside table. However, aside from that we enjoyed our mini break at Sage Hotel, and would definitely recommend it, and stay there again.

Great position. Parking underneath is not assured so you need to arrive early as busier at night. Parking is not run by Sage and costs $40 per 24 hours. High rise going up opposite Sage so would be noisy from Monday to Saturday inclusive, however I was there while no construction was happening. Also, my room was at the very back so advise getting a room well off James Street, ie as far as possible as construction will be going on for some time.

Bathroom is large - that's the positive. But that's pretty much it. Dark rooms, smelt musty - definitely needed airing so managed to crack open a small window facing onto a concrete wall. There are no facilities. It's basically an expensive bed. Breakfast is offsite at a local cafe, food was good. Staff were friendly but had to prompt them to give info about breakfast details, if there is an onsite gym etc (there isn't) otherwise would never have known.

It's a shitfight! Construction sight across the road. Don't expect to sleep in at the moment. Shower is useless, ended up having a bath. Couldn't find the light to the bathroom. Had to sleep with it on. Around 1 am receive a knock on the door because my music is too loud. I travel everywhere across the country on business and this is the 1st complaints I've ever received. If you're not going to insulate your rooms correctly, don't come knocking on my door. Never again! 2/10

Never happened before. Parked, checked in, got our key - all good. 1. Arrived at room (212) to find it was not made/cleaned after the last guest. Okay, it can happen... We're not perfect either. Went back to the desk, received apologies, given another key (to 101). 2. To the room, tapped the key, opened the door - to find someone else already on the bed! It was horrifying for us - can only imagine how she felt when we just opened her door! Scary and unacceptable breakdown of guest security and systems. So, back to the desk. Received another (stronger) apology, took another key and an upgrade to "city view" (city of Newstead?). Nice enough room. Locked the doors from the inside, but just kept thinking - what if they stuff up again and we get a visitor? Location is great, rooms were good. But the systems and processes that allowed us to be given a dirty room, and then an occupied room?? What if it was my daughter in the room and they gave a second key to some random who just walks in... Hardly worth thinking about. Good news for them is, it's cheaper to replace management than upgrade old rooms.

Dog barking until after 12.30 at night, mould in the bathroom and a toilet that leaked and kept trying to refil every 30 secs. Absolutely no sleep and the guy on check out just shrugged his shoulders when we complained

Beautifully comfortable clean hotel, wonderful obliging staff. It was so nice to be able to sit in the lobby with our friends after a show & have a beer & nibbles. Only negative…was being woken early up by the construction going on across the road. But otherwise, a lovely stay & we definitely will return.
