From the minute of arrival, i wanted for nothing. The staff were attentive, unpretentious, caring and three steps ahead of needs. The restaurant Sokyo - was 5 stars and then some. A welcome stop ever in a busy city that allowed for total recharging and revitalisation. Thank you

The first room we were put in had mold all over the shower floor. When we told the front desk they decided to switch room for us. However it was late at night so they couldn’t give us a room so we had to wait till the next day. In the morning. Three different people gave us three different stories about which new room they would give us and what time it would be ready, leaving us waiting around for several hours to figure out what was going to happen. Eventually they gave us a new room which had a really bad mattress. The employees were all nice and polite but the manager didnt really do anything to make up for the moldy room. For a 5 star hotel the whole situation was very disappointing. I would say that location is excellent and the food nearby was also excellent.

The room was beautiful, spacious, very clean and cleaned immaculately every day (vacuum lines on the upholstery!). Location was convenient for many sites including Darling Harbor, Chinatown, Paddy's Market, but also a short walk to CBD. Easy access to L train (in the building) and ferries made it easy to get around town. Grocery store next door and lots of nice dining options nearby. I was worried about the open plan bathroom (why won't hotels put doors on bathrooms anymore?!?) but the sliding barrier and separate door for the toilet worked well for privacy.

A city hotel close to the sights and local amenities. Rooms are high quality with a nice tech touch.
The pool at The Darling was perfect, use the gym at The Star hotel next door when you stay as the equipment is good quality and variety.
The Casino is handy for the sports screens but many local Hotels (bars) in walking distance that must be checked out.

Fantastic from start to finish! Staff were lovely upon check in, explaining all facets of our stay, room was beautiful, bed was very comfortable and the hotel was super close to everything we needed. The Darling is undeniably a beautiful and luxurious hotel — plush, moorish interiors, extremely comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities nearby. It’s in a great location and feels every bit like a premium stay.
A couple of things to note: breakfast and the gym are located in different areas, which can feel a bit disjointed when you’re expecting everything under one roof. I also found that while many staff were helpful especially at reception, others in different areas of the hotel and facilities, came across as slightly stand‑offish, which made me feel a little less at ease than expected for a hotel of this calibre.
That said, the comfort of the rooms and the overall quality of the property make it a strong choice. With a bit more warmth in service consistency, it could easily be a five‑star experience.
