We had a brilliant stay at the Lord Nelson. Beautiful building and history. Great pub on the ground floor. Great room, we were lucky to have a beautiful view of the skyline from our room. There is no elevator in the property. This was fine for us, but for those with mobility issues, stairs are the only way up. 10 minutes walk to the international cruise ship terminal. Would happily book here again.

This hotel was warm and inviting. The room was large and comfortable. The only complaint I would have was the noise level. My room was the first on the 2nd floor landing and the restroom for the pub customers was on the landing below mine. The door going into the restroom needs oiling! It was squeaky and I could hear the hand dryer everytime someone used it. The noise from outside was bad as well and the street seemed to be a major drag strip. It is a lovely old hotel.

The room was clean but tired, the bathroom grout has mould and needs a good scrub. The floorboards in an old building creak and squeak and sleep quality on a Saturday night when an always difficult. Oh well, I eventually slept but probably won’t book again in a hurry as there is better value and sleep quality elsewhere.

The hotel is the oldest in Sydney, built in 1841, which is really cool. That being said, it does mean the building reflects its age a bit. It’s well cared for, but there is no elevator, which can make things difficult with luggage. I was helped by staff when I checked in, but not when I checked out as it was early in the morning so it took me several trips up and down the stairs from the third floor. The rooms are nice, but basic, the bathrooms are large, and the price is reasonable. It’s also in easy walking distance from the opera house and harbor, which was very convenient. The staff was wonderful, especially Harry and Saskia. Overall, I’d stay here again.

This is the oldest hotel in Sydney, so we expected an older building. We loved the area, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There were only two issues that were problematic. The office is only open for limited hours, and there is no elevator. My wife is a bit handicapped, so getting to the 4th floor was a bit of an issue. Since it is a historic building, they cannot add an elevator. I would, and am, staying there again later this week.
