Lovely small hotel in a perfect location - bus from train station and tram line anywhere you need to go in Vienna but walkable everywhere apart from Belvedere. Reception staff superb for directions and recommendations.

This hotel is lovely but it's the staff who make the stay so good. They are so kind and accommodating. There was work on the street during our stay which was very noisy but we were thoughtfully provided with earplugs and a complimentary bottle of fizz! The noise did not cause a problem. Breakfast is included in the already reasonable price and it varied and fresh - fruit, yoghurt, breads, jams, cereal, sausage & eggs, continental meats & cheeses, the staff even offered to make special vegan options and they are flexible with the times it is served. The room itself was very nice with a four-poster bed and chandelier. I honestly can not fault this place.

If you like a more older style hotel, this is it. Very quaint. However, the bathroom is new and updated. We liked it for its aged charm. The staff is super friendly. They upgraded us which was a very pleasant surprise. The breakfast was very enjoyable with lots of choices of breads and fruit spreads. They had a venison sausage which we quite enjoyed. The served some traditional Viennese items. Location is great. A few blocks from a local Christmas market, huge pedestrian shopping mall, and the metro to the airport. (one direct train). Walking distance (1.5 km) to many important landmarks. 2 min walk to a Schnitzelwirt Restaurant for great schnitzel. (delicious, affordable, large portions so do share) I would recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

We loved this property! Everyone was so cordial and helpful, in fact we had to give Christina (the owner) a big hug when we left. Breakfast was amazing! And tram transportation in front of the door, what else do you need?

Kugel was convenient and close to transportation to all the sights. There were a lot of dining options nearby. Clean hotel, with friendly staff. The hotel itself appeared dated. But it was reasonably priced with breakfast included it was value for money.

Really enjoyed our stay at this friendly family run hotel. Service was excellent, with all staff being very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with good quality produce within a relaxed atmosphere. Well located for the tourist attractions! Comfortable 4 poster bed and good shower, only be negative was that our room had still to be refurbished. Good value for money!

Nice property in a fine location. We had two rooms, ours was very nice, our friend's was so-so. This property doesn't have air conditioning and there are streetcars running right below so may be a bit noisy for some at night.

The location was central to cultural institutions and Christmas Markets - a trolly stops right outside the door and the metro is 3 blocks away, with bank, grocery store, restaurants and shops within blocks. The breakfast is a highlight- included with the room charge and excellent. Accommodations were made for my gluten free status. What a tremendous staff! So helpful and informative. We had a lovely stay.

I arrived in the early evening and everything went very smoothly with the check in. The room was very nice, the staff welcoming and very helpful, and the breakfast excellent. I asked to stay a little after the scheduled check-out so I could spend an extra hour at the Bruegel exhibit at the nearby art museum and the hotel accommodated my request. The only issue, and it was minor, is that the shower was very small. But all in all, both the stay and the staff could not have been nicer.

I spent 4 nights in Hotel Kugel and it was very good..staff were friendly and the couple who run it were very helpful with advice on getting around Vienna, where to eat locally, organising cabs to the airport and packing tricky items for return flights. The room was good, clean with comfortable bed, windows that open, with life outside. Breakfast seems to be largely organic and catered for most tastes. I was on the third floor and the room was quiet enough especially in such a central location. It felt very comfortable and safe so fine for travelling solo, and easy to walk to galleries, museums, music venues, theatres and other tourist spots.

We (my husband and 2 children) were there pre-Chrsitmas. We much enjoyed our breakfast and time in the city. Within a block or 2 all public transportation seemed to be available. We got good directions and encouragement from the hotel staff. I was there for 2 days without my husband and the kids and explored and enjoyed the surrounding neighborhoods. Felt totally safe.

the staff and organization. it was brilliant! Especially Mr. Roller the owner of Hotel Kugel was so helpful to give us recommendations what we really shouldn't miss in Vienna. And we were really pleasantly surprised when we found a bottle of champagne and chocolate in our room for tour anniversary. The rooms are super cute - Laura Ashley style. For sightseeing it is always important that you have a comfi matress - I get easily backpain otherwise. It was so comfy that we overslept the last day and had to rush to the airport. The breakfast is organic with lovely jam's and homemade cheese-spread. We loved absolut everything about this hotel and will come back again for sure!
