We were looking for a cheap stay in Innsbruck for a few days of snowboarding and found this nice little hotel. About a mile walk on a trail from the river and into downtown this hotel had a great breakfast and was very clean. Free parking is available on site.

We stayed the one night. The owner was very nice and had a good sense of humour. The single room was perfect. Not large but big enough. The loo is communal but not far from the room and there were no issues. The view from the balcony was beautiful looking out over Innsbruck. You can see the ski jump opposite.

Great view, difficult to drive to, limited "free" parking, staff was not helpful, breakfast was OK, spacious room for 4, hot water for 1 shower only. Too expensive for what we got.

So I didn' expect this hotel to be luxurios and it was far from that. Room was marginally clean. Bathroom was small even by eueopean standards. Breakfast was just OK as well. If this had been €50 then it would have been a better deal. Basically I would not go back. There are nicer places and better deals to be had. Also, no engish was spoken and the internet was so slow it basically did not function.

The view from the terrace of this hotel is wonderful, overlooking the town and the mountains from up high and saves it from a poorer review. The food was simple but well cooked and the breakfast had plenty of variety in a pleasant dining room. The bedrooms however need renovation. The doors and flooring finishes are plastic and creak and the walls are so thin you can hear the shower next door and any movement in the corridors. The furniture is sparse but the beds were reasonably comfortable. The bathroom is a fitted unit and therefore small but serves its purpose although it does not lend to a feeling of comfort and ends up like a sauna when showering.

September 2011 stay had a surprise snow fall, but left the surrounding Alps beautiful. This hotel has a wonderful outside patio for dining with a beautiful view. It is half way up the mountain so a good choice if you like to walk. Do not walk up from town unless you like mountian climbing - the cab for 2 was only 11 Euros. You can walk down the hill by steps and a path near the hotel, but it is a hike. The bus is also easy, but will laeve you several blocks from the train station. Coming up from town you can take the new Hungerburg funicular and then walk down Hohenstrause from there. The hotel/room is authentic Tyrolean - a little spartan for some tastes maybe, but confortable enough. The breakfast was very good. Some have mentioned a cooking odor, which we also smelled one day when the snitzel was frying,, but it was tolerable, and was not present the next day. The owner is a jolly fellow who cooks, cleans, brings out the breakfast and never seems to rest or stop smiling. He clearly enjoys taking care of his guests.

Hotel was located up a very steep and narrow road. Parking was inadequate, there were not enough spaces for all the guests. Staff at front desk were not very friendly. Room was clean; beds were uncomfortable. The shower leaked all over the floor and the water was not hot. Our towels the first night were not clean, they had black stains on them. No elevator-we had to take our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. I would not recommend this hotel.
