Hotel Sonne is a comfortable hotel right in the center of Lienz, a quick walk from the train and bus stations. The interior of the building itself is definitely dated and a bit austere, but that really didn’t impact my stay. My room was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the mountains. The breakfast options were great, and I appreciated that breakfast itself started at 6:00 (I’m an early riser). The staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have time to try the sauna or the gym, but I’m glad they were included. The price was fair and good value.

Beautiful property within the shadow of the Dolomites. Staff were absolutely delightful and friendly. Very nice breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and amber sugar crystals for my tea!! Shopping very close and all amenities covered. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

What a disappointment. The hotel is undergoing renovations. They did not mention this on the booking site.
Roof top bar not available. Outside seating in the middle of construction. Condition of hotel appalling.
The staff were lovely and room was clean but very tired dated with no appeal.

The hotel is very rundown. The blinds in the room didn’t work properly. The windows were dirty. The bathroom fixtures were old and stained. The rugs were stained, worn out and not vacuumed.
The only good thing to say was that the evening receptionist was very friendly, and the breakfast was good.
We cannot recommend this hotel and suggest staying elsewhere.

This hotel is just in the city center of Lienz, walking distance to restaurants. Easy check-in, good size room and bathroom and we had a top floor view. Breakfast buffet are excellent offers natural orange juice and espresso coffee are the best. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Bed comfy too!
