This is a great place to stay if you're in the Grossglockner area. The hotel is well situated in Heilligenblut, at the end of the Grossglockner road. The rooms are nice and the modern spa area is great; which includes a sauna room and pool that have large panorama windows to allow to look down the beautiful valley. There are some nice hiking paths in the area. Food was fine at the restaurant.

The hotel was very charming and room we were given had beautiful view of the valley and the mountains. It came with passes for the cable car and for the Grossglockner road. The breakfast was wonderful. Alpine air was fresh and wonderful if you could get a little of it in your room. But the room was extremely hot even with all the windows open even on days when the outside temperature was reasonable. You would think they actually heat the rooms even during summer with 15-20 C air outside. The circulation is nonexistent even with the windows open in these very charming wood hotels designed to treasure and retain every last bit of heat with darkly colored wood to absorb and retain the sun energy, no cross ventilation to allow escape of heat, continuous heating during summer and winter alike and a spa and the sauna on the lower floor to further heat the whole place. Next time I think I am going to ask for a bed in the Balcony in open air. It would really help the hotel to install some sort of climate control. Nevertheless I would probably recommend it because it seems like all hotels here are in the same boat.

We spend two nights with our kids of 3 and 5. We thoroughly enjoyed the area as well as the hotel facilities (nice pool) after a day out. The restaurant served a mixed buffet starter/dessert and a la carte main course. This was perfect with the kids. The quality of the food was good and the price very reasonable. Warmly recommended for families who would like to see some nature!

My husband and I were at the hotel in August which is located near the national park. The hotel organizes walks in the surrounding areas and has a lovely pool and some spa services. The meals (breakfast, dinner) were included in the rates for the room. The buffet at breakfast included omelets and an excellent variety of meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurts and breads. I have one caution about the hotel. Do not book a room street side. The rooms are rather small and there is no air conditioning. If you want the room to be sound proof you have to sleep with the windows shut and then it gets rather warm. The town is very small, but there is only one road and our room was only a few feet from it. The vehicles going by kept us awake. The staff did everything they could to make sure our needs were met.
