Shades

Shadows of Barbados is a lovely place. Rochelle does an amazing job of making people feel at home. We will be back!! Short little stroll to the beach and restaurants. Nice sleeping areas. Very nicely appointed. Love it here!

It was hard to find in the late night but Rochelle stayed up to welcome us. When there was no coffee machine in the bungalow she made sure to get one to us in a timely fashion. She was always available to assist in any way. While the property is not luxurious for many, it was perfect for us to get to the beach and to visit different parts of Barbados every day.

Me & my wife recently spent six nights at Shades Apts ,Paynes Bay .The three villa complex is set in a lush tropical garden with coconut and palm trees .We stayed on the ground floor in Apt 6 & when sitting on our patio we were surrounded by tropical plants and palm trees and there was a constant visit from hummingbirds ,doves and other tropical birds and the neighbourhood hen and her chicks who always stopped by to say hello and of course a free meal .From our patio the only noise we heard was the cooing of doves.The pool was literally thirty steps from the patio and the pool area and surrounding gardens were immaculate. Paynes beach ,rated one of the best bathing beaches in Bdos was an easy & safe three minute walk from our patio.and at the beach lounge chairs and umbrellas were readily available for rent by the day or hour .The bar and grill on the beach served good food and drinks at reasonable prices as all the other local restaurants all within walking distance .Massy a large supermarket where you can purchase all your needs was a five minute bus ride ,the bus stop was a two minute walk from our patio. Jacqui Lee ,the manager of Shades is a lovely person and like a breathe of fresh air and always willing to help with any request . I highly recommend Shades to anyone thinking of staying in that area and definitely plan on returning some day
