Hotel New Flanders

A very basic hotel bedroom was clean, well worn. Suited our needs for the night but everything was closed Monday no food or drink. Couldn’t wait to get out of here. Convenient place while doing business in the area. Literally, across the street for trains, buses, and taxis.

Landing lights constantly flashing = electrical fault. Light above bed missing with wires hanging down in terminal blocks not taped up. Bathroom window rusty and paint missing around window frame. Dust on top of several things in the bathroom. Convenient for station and comfy bed is all I can say that is good about the place. Just like a cheap Belgian hotel in the 80s, but it wasn’t cheap!

Contrary to most of the recent comments it was all clean and tidy, with a brilliant restaurant in the house, with fantastic Asian-food for good value. We enjoyed our stay; after a few of their strong beer you don´t even hear the railway-station next door!

The hotel is a mid to low range 3*. Rooms were clean and tidy, but in need of a refurb. They were cleaned daily too. Staff were friendly and there is a bar downstairs with restaurant. The hotel is right next to the train station and is noisy until trains stop in the early hours. I stayed in February and could keep the windows closed but in summer this wouldn't be an option and rooms would be noisy. Bed was comfy, although pillows too large for my liking. Walls were a bit thin, I was woken by the person next door snoring. Parking is easy at the train station.

Not helpful when dealing with trip delays. On a day they were sold out, they wouldn’t help with trip problems

Our stay here was good. I really liked the staff and WiFi worked great! But Beds were not very comfortable. They were too soft. we were not bothered by the trains passing by as it was right next to the train station—another bonus if you are arriving or leaving by train.

it was ok needs to be re decorated as soon as possible bleach stains on the carpets grubby paint work.

Hotel is dated and needs an update badly. It is also next to the station so very noisy.

Nice and friendly but the bed and pillows were terrible.

Hotel was pleasant and great for a one night stay. Only thing we didn't like was the fact that it was hard to find any street parking unless you pay for the hourly parking lot next to the hotel. But if you are traveling without car and from a train station its a perfect location.

The stay was really great. I would stay here again. The hotel owners as well as personnels in front desk were very helpful. They went out of their way to help me with car parking etc. The hotel room was clean and smell free. It was great value for money, considering other overpriced hotels in Antwerp or Ghent.

The hotel was very spacious. Staff were pleasant. The room could have benefitted from tea and coffee facilities. Thankfully the trams were on strike otherwise I feel it may have been noisy.

We went to Sint Niklaas for a long weekend to visit some friends. We had stayed in the Hotel New Flanders on a previous visit, so we were a little dissapointed this time in the room we were allocated was quite small, and was poorly ventelated. The Hotel has a good sushi restaurant and nice bar area. Also close to the railway station which is good if you want to travel to nearby Gent or Antwerp, close to local shopping street and approx 10 minute stroll to the main square.
