What Guests Say About Their Stay

Our stay was perfect as a morning launching pad and evening landing pad for our San Ignacio adventures. The staff were very kind and friendly, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and the hammock on the deck of our cabana was highly utilized at the end of our long days. The hotel was a short walk from the town of San Ignacio where we were able to get delicious food from vendors, and right next door to Cahal Pech Archeological Reserve.

Our whole time here was fantastic. Having them organize our transportation and tours was such a huge benefit. The property is lovely, especially the cabin we stayed in. The view across the valley is stunning. We especially loved the hammock in the screened in porch. Very relaxing!

Cahel Pech is a great affordable option in San Ignacio. The pool setup is a fun amenity and meals were delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel was happy to set us up with tours and local drivers too. On a Saturday night, the local town partied loudly until 3am but I can't really fault the hotel for that. The room could be improved with a new mattress and pillows. The view of the town is super nice and there's even a local bunny that is super friendly! Staff is top notch.

Overall a Good place to stay for the cost. The food was average but there are lots of spots to eat in town. The resort public washrooms are not very nice. The room washroom was good tho. We found it loud in the early night. Lots of noise coming up from the town. We played some white noise to filter it out to sleep. The location was good for our Mayan Ruin vacation.

I was surprised that the place was quite a hike downhill. I have limited mobility and it was very difficult. It was very loud in proximity to the city which I also did not expect. There was no water or cups available which I’ve had at every other hotel I’ve stayed at excitably at that price. The food and the pool were amazing. All the huts had hammocks except mine. Once I asked they were accommodating and got one hung up but it was one of the main reasons I reserved the place and was surprised that I had to ask. Overall the people were nice and everything was fine.

A beautiful location with stunning views from the cabanas. The food and drinks at the on-site restaurant and coffee shop were very good and fairly priced. A real bonus is having your own terrace in front of the cabana with a hammock which is protected by a fly net. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Ample parking available. We would have liked a fridge and safe in the room but otherwise loved our stay here.

Breakfast is pretty bad and a whopping 54$ for two. This is mind blowing seeing how a fancy restaurant here is less. Eggs are buffet style and under cooked. Bread was not too good. Fruit was good. Extremely loud anywhere you are in the resort with kids screaming at the pool. Clearly no filter on the pool system only pumps. Pillows are not comfortable and too big. Cabana was nice with a good view. We ate every day about 100m down the road at the falling leaves hotel/black obsidian and it was much cheaper and really good food. The restaurant said they get lots of cahal pech customers due to them having better and much cheaper food. On check in we were told that the breakfast started at 7:00 am so we figured that the cheap looking buffet was included. I mean even a cheap hotel like holiday inn has a free buffet breakfast. To our surprise only after making ourselves a tiny plate we were told that not everyone had included breakfast. Would have been nice to know during check in. Price for hotel was very good and i still think it deserves a solid 4 stars as we spend little time at the property. We will probably stay somewhere a tad more expensive next time. Could not get wine glasses for our room. Room had no glass at all. We were here for our anniversary and had to drink our fancy water bottle straight from the bottle. Yes they offered a cheap plastic dixie cup but i would rather drink from the bottle thank you!! Supper looked decent in terms of atmosphere. Shower was nice.

The resort was lovely and the views from the room and restaurant were beautiful. The bungalows were cozey ... but the noise was a lot at night. San Ignacio seems to never quiet down at night time anf the thatched roofs do not offer much for sound proofing. Bring earplugs for sleeping, especially if you are a light sleeper. I imagine this would be an issue anywhere you stay though.

The room was clean and the hotel itself was nice and enjoyable. We spent a lot of time by the pool and we stayed in a cabana which we really enjoyed. A few things we didn’t love was that you couldn’t get room service, we ordered a pizza around 7-8pm and waited for it at the bar but It took an hour. We also weren’t told that the breakfast buffet runs from 7am-10am and after that we could order from their breakfast menu. We were not fond of the breakfast buffet and would’ve preferred ordering from the menu so I do think that you should advise your guests of the times. The staff at the bar/restaurant work very hard and are very nice but they are understaffed and we would wait 30+ minutes for a drink, let alone food. Probably would not stay here again but other than those things we did enjoy it.
