Resort Bonaire Review – One-Bedroom Apartment
During my recent trip to Bonaire, I stayed at Resort Bonaire in a one-bedroom apartment. Overall, the stay was comfortable and well-suited for a dive-focused trip, though there were a few quirks worth noting.
Room & Amenities
The apartment featured two twin beds, which could be pushed together to form a king. Since I was traveling with a friend, we opted to separate them for added space and comfort. The room itself was clean and functional, with enough storage for our belongings.
One of the highlights was the fully equipped kitchen, which included a dishwasher—a great convenience for longer stays. The ability to prepare our own meals was a plus, especially given the limited dining options nearby.
One downside, however, was the air conditioning setup. While the bedroom had AC, the living, dining, and kitchen areas did not. This made those spaces noticeably warmer, especially during the day. It would have been nice to have a cooling option for the entire apartment.
Dining Option
Resort Bonaire offers a single meal each night for a very reasonable price. The catch? You have to get there early because they often sell out. The rotating menu ensures variety, but since there’s only one option per night, it may not suit everyone’s tastes. That said, the convenience and affordability were definite positives.

We loved the room for 6. We had 4 staying. It was great for us. Clean, well equipted for us. Had everything we needed. They even let us store our luggage in a secured space so we could enjoy the rest of our day after checking out. Some construction going on, but had no impact on us. Parking is a little tight, but we always had a spot. We will return. Excellent value for us.

This is definitely not a resort, the room had no soap, hand wash, there was a broken broom (no dust pan), we had no room service and non working vaccim cleaner. The room clean and spacious. The spare bed was terrible, our apartment was on the road, and there was no blackout curtains so broken sleep all night with car lights and very little privacy!

We had a great time. Located close to airport. Staff was nice. No blankets on bed only sheet, they just went available. We stayed 5 days only had housekeeping one time. Property grounds are very well kept. Plenty of parking. The outside balcony was huge! We stayed out there more than inside.

Really enjoyed this resort. Awesome pool area and dedicated pool for small children. Plenty of parking. Approximately 5-7 minutes South of the airport. Away from the immediate downtown so at night it is quiet. Would definitely stay again when visiting Bonaire.
Only cons would be lack of a washer/dryer in the unit or on the premise. And the beds do not have a comforter. So if you are cold when sleeping, bring layers or a blanket.

Location was exactly what i expected. Bed situation very uncomfortable. Literally 2 single beds pushed together with seperate bedding so tou keep falling between beds. Only 2 pilliows and huge. There should be a couple options as well as at least a blanket. Not just a top sheet. I used a towel. Could never cook an actual meal because not enough appropriate cutlery. No pool towels. Not enough seating around the pool. On Sunday the place was packed with non resort people using the facility, not enough parking. Toilet leaked the while stay. They did send somekne out to fix but he couldn't fix. Tried to eat lunch there and they were out if burgers, couldn't make nachos and no chicken fingers. For what i paid nightly i was disappointed. Won't stay again. There are other places i have stayed that are much better. I'm sorry for the poor review but you need the honesty

A telephone should have been in the room to reach someone in case of an emergency. The mattress on the twin bed was very uncomfortable. Ended up with lower back pain. Considering the airport is 5 mins away, a complimentary shuttle could have been provided.

Parking is the biggest issue plus the fact that the cleaning staff only comes every 3 days.... unless you're only staying 7 nights then they come once. Which is an issue for towels and trash. Location is fine & basic but clean

Pool area too small for amount of resort guests and not always enough chairs.
Alot of pool fouls as well..cigarette butts everywhere (not staffs fault but maybe need ashtrays)glassware and beer bottle near and in pool isnt good practice and wild children constantly running =bad.
We had a second floor room directly behind the bar/kitchen so it was noisy until 11pm but tolerable, except when off duty staff had a late night early morning party at 1:30-3am and kept us awake with yelling. Not tolerable.
Otherwise room was nice , kitchen had everything required washrooms clean with towels but could use smaller hand/face variety.
Bedrooms have one pillow per bed and sheets only. Not blankets.
Air conditioner worked perfectly for Bedrooms but main living quarters arent air cooled.
Actually met the owner and he was very pleasant and seems to be doing lots of improvements to the grounds, overall facility and was very involved with his crew while we were there.
If staying over New Years Eve be ready for alot of noise and fireworks. The whole Island is one big party and fireworks show. Incredible
Overall and good experience and will look into returning to Resort Bonaire if possible.

Love the apartment but second ac unit in living room would be nice or a fan that is faster. Pizza too small for the price in my opinion. Property was very clean and pools were nicely maintained. Overall great stay look forward to our 2nd visit.
