Arosa Rio Hotel

Good beds, clean bedding, great cleaning team! The staff is truly kind and respectful. The location is a little challenging if you are in a short time for your overall stay (is far from most of the tourist attractions)

Unfortunately an incident during check out is the reason why this review is not as good as I would have liked, a charge to my account for something I did not consume from the minibar, 4 bottles of water, not one but 4, “the housekeeping was the one who reported” this. It’s a shame that this lady lied and tried to scam the guests, the incident was corrected and everything was clarified, the girls at the front desk excellent in their job, very friendly and always willing to help, cleaning, breakfast, common areas everything very good, Oscar the manager a little bit reluctant to understand the situation but finally accepted the mistake, what a pity that a single person ruins the good job and effort of the entire staff, thank you for the stay and hosting us, overall it was good, it seems that this happened in the past to others guests bc reading reviews about hotel this popped up in more than one comment, and still happens, this is not good for business,

One of the only affordable hotels in the area. I have stayed for 1 week twice this year. Great sun on the roof, good for reading or conversation.

The electric adapters the hotel provides don't work, so you have to buy your own to charge your cellphone, laptop, etc. Since there aren't many stores around the hotel, it was impossible to buy an adapter. The hotel should be thinking on international guests and how to fulfill their needs.

I love the staff and the quietness

Great front desk service. Rooms were clean. Breakfast wasn’t the best though.

The service was excellent, and most of the staff spoke English or Spanish in addition to Portuguese. We arrived several hours before check-in, but the hotel offered luggage storage, allowing us to drop off our bags and explore the area. Its location is convenient, just 15-20 minutes from the main tourist attractions. Security is present 24/7 outside the hotel, which added to the sense of safety. The rooftop bar was a great spot to unwind, offering reasonably priced drinks and a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast each morning had a wide variety of delicious options. The AC in the room worked well and kept the space comfortably cool. Some staff can arrange taxis at fixed rates, helping you avoid the common scams from regular taxi drivers, which was a huge plus. Make sure to bring wall plug adapters for your electronics, as the outlets are different than in the U.S.

A great hotel. It was in excellent condition - either fairly new or recently renovated.

Located close to Sambadrome. Streets in this area smell of urine and homeless.

Enjoyed the simple dining options nearby. Room service was used otherwise

My favorite part of my stay was the hotel staff. They truly had guest comfort and safety in mind.

The hotel was good value for the price. Not the best breakfast we had on the trip. Enjoyed the rooftop bar. Very generous.

Provide us very low quality pellow. I requested extra pellow. But they didn't give us extra pellow. Only you can rent pellow, but you have to pay 15 Brazilian real. I have requested 1 cup of hot water. Nothing is free. You have to pay 15 Brazilian real. Most of the hotel they give electric kettle. But they don't have any. They should improve their service..

The front desk staff during check in assume a lot just by looking at you and the way you’re dressed. They got frustrated and display a quite unacceptable attitude when you ask them questions they are not used to. They made me feel discriminated which is just not cool at all.

Average hotel for the region, average price. Large room with comfortable bed, though the A/C unit is fairly undersized and takes 1-2 hours to chill to any reasonable temperature. Shower had a general heating issue (affecting other rooms) and the front desk didn't take us seriously when we reported it in the afternoon (understandable-ish, who takes hot showers in Rio anyway? Other rooms didn't report it) and only realized something was really wrong far later when it was already evening and it was completely cold -- maintenance would only be performed the next day.

One block to the left there is a homeless camp The area is not safe While there: (1) the sink was continously leaking water we had to ask for them to fix it (2) the door did not lock we had to call for them to fix it (3) the safe didn't close twice we had to call twice for them to fix it (4) after the sink leaks so much water we put down towels and then were charged for the towels They try But no they miss the mark and it could be looked over if the area was safe but no
