Hotel Catharina Paraguaçu

It started off kind of awkward since we had to wait three hours for our water to be working in our room because of a leak in our bathroom. But the hotel staff were nice, and they explained that it would be done as soon as possible. However, on our second to last day, we were told that they needed to fix the leak again and we had to go to another room which was much smaller and not even close to the nice view we had in our original room. We mentioned that the water leak really didn't bother us. It was a just a tiny leak in the bathroom next to the toilet. So the hotel agreed we could stay in your original room for one more night if we want and then we would move into a room very much like the one we had the next morning. And we agreed, but my fiance noticed that leak was coming from the tank on the toilet, and she took a little plastic trash can in the room and put it underneath the toilet to catch the drip and it solved the whole problem there. We just had to monitor it for a little while and keep our great room. So luckily the hotel was okay with that. We didn't really want to pack up everything and move to another room. We were very comfortable in the room I had originally reserved. Other than that, everything was great. Breakfast was adequate; we didn't really want a giant buffet so it was as expected when I booked the room. Back to the view, it was probably the best view of any rooms. My fiance and I have a slew of awesome pictures from that room. Beautiful hotel!

The room was not clean and the general maintenance, the mattress for example was very old and was not in good shape. the staff was very kind and supportative.

Beautiful colonial hotel. Excellent breakbast and rooms (with patios and garden). The staff was was always nice, and helping us. The neighbourhood is safe, with a lot of options. Paciencia beach very near. Excellent!

Historic building with a lot of character and well-maintained. Rooms were clean and adequately spacious. Staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. Breakfast provided a good variety of local options. Would definitely stay here again if ever in Salvador in the future!

this hotel is for the traveller, old style building which may not be to every bodies taste. buffet style breakfast, excellent choice for those seeking something different in a safe area.

This hotel is in one of the best locations for this city. a safe zone, close to many bars restaurants and a great amount of music on weekends. the rooms are nice and quiet. it is a quaint place and the staff is great. the building is not the hilton, but if you want true flavor of the city it is just right!

The hotel is really nice; colonial style, beautiful interior design. It is amazingly clean, I don't know how they manage to get rid of the dust. The furnishing of the rooms is simple, even somewhat outdated but it is very uncomfortable and unpretentious. The staff is very helpful. If you need a taxi or uber ordered for you, they'll do it and will fix the price for you which I found really helpful, especially with taxis. I was there for work and needed a ride every day for a week. The receptionist never hesitated to get me the best price. The hotel is located right in the middle of all the night life action on and around Rio Vermehlio. It does get pretty noisy on the weekend but the noise stops at around midnight. The breakfast is included in the price and it is amazing: fresh papaya, different tapioca products, all traditional Brazilian and Bahian food. It has a beautiful courtyard where one can have their coffee in the morning. There is a beach right behind it. It's not the best beach, it's pretty rocky but there are small boats one can rent.

Everything was wonderful-the neighborhood is safe and fun with good restaurants and close to beach. The breakfast delicious, the room fine and comfortable. It is very pretty. Wagner at the front desk was helpful and delightful. The ladies in the kitchen were warm and friendly. The only difficult part was the keys- very confusing.

Regal decore, comfy bed and plenty of fresh towels. Great location just one block from the action. Public bus runs frequently and will get you to Barra Beach or Barra Shopping for about $1. Uber is easy and cheap. Quite, clean and safe place to rest your head. The staff is quite kind and will assist you with ease. Breakfast is nice.

By picture I expected nice colonial style hotel, but ended in a dark rook with wall 1m in front of the window and almost not light coming in.

Muito bom no geral, café, limpeza, localização

O hotel é bem bonito com vários azulejos e colorido. O quarto tem um bom tamanho e super atende a um casal. O café da manhã é bom com opções de frutas, doces, pães, incluindo pão delícia, e salgados. Os atendentes foram super atenciosos e prestativos. Apesar de estar localizado em uma região boêmia, e naturalmente mais barulhenta, os quartos oferecem uma boa proteção acústica e quase não ouvimos barulhos externos (algumas vezes escutávamos do banheiro), mas não era algo que incomodava. A única questão negativa que tenho a acrescentar é a TV e o funcionamento de controles. A TV não estava funcionando direito e era muito difícil mudar de canal e assistir qualquer coisa em streaming (apesar de estar escrito que os quartos tinham smartv). E o controle do ar condicionado funcionava muito mal também e tornou um pouco difícil trocar de temperatura. Mas são questões pequenas perto da boa experiência que tivemos na estadia.

Foi um achado incrível. Hotel lindo, cheio de personalidade, muito limpo e com uma equipe muito simpática. O quarto é super aconchegante; você se sente realmente no clima praiano. Recomendo muito!

Très joli hôtel d’époque de taille agréable et décoré avec soin. Très bien situé pour se déplacer à pied à quelques minutes de la plage des restos et cafés. Un petit oasis étonnamment tranquille au centre de l’action. Salle de bain étroite comparé aux standards modernes, mais mais très jolie et fonctionnelle. Il y a même une planche à repasser intégrée dans le mur! Je recommande chaudement.
