This is a nice hotel near the historic center of Porto Alegre. It's at the bottom of a hill, so be prepared to walk up and down hilly streets to get around. The neighborhood isn't great (there is a fair amount of homeless people on the street, right in front of the hotel), but it never felt unsafe to me. The service is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the internet was good. For the price and convenience, I recommend it.

The hotel was fine like any IBIS but The booking was not good. I booked double bed room and they only had single beds! I had to pay for an extra room!!!!!!!!! Not fair.

Ao chegar no quarto após o checkin estava uma temperatura interna de 35• onde tentei desligar e ligar novamente colocando em temperatura inferior para refrescar o quarto, no entanto, sem sucesso! Quando solicitei auxílio no balcão, me informaram não ter quarto disponível para trocar e que eu deveria abrir a janela para refrescar. Fiz isso e demorou em torno de 3 horas para ficar a uma temperatura aceitável. A qual interferiu inclusive em nosso sono (chegamos à noite no hotel). Elevador: funcionando somente um, onde nas duas vezes que desci pela manhã, tive que aguardar a terceira descida do mesmo para conseguir embarcar. Estava com minha família (esposa e filhas pequenas) e a experiência foi horrível. Já fiquei no IBIS em Novo Hamburgo, POA Aeroporto, Caixias/Bento… e nunca tive uma experiência ruim assim como esta.

Passei uma noite hospedada pois tinha um casamento na cidade. começando pelo atendimento amador: a menina da recepção ao invés de pedir licença para outra cliente no balcão, simplesmente enxotou a mulher como se fosse uma mosca, fazendo sinal com a mão. no checkout tinha coisas que não consumimos na conta, mas avisei que não estava certo e não nos cobraram (pra ficar de olho ou não ficar com vergonha de falar). desorganizados e pouco educados. nosso quarto estava com vazamento no banheiro, além disso, vidros e espelhos sujos e vaso sujo (não de forma explícita, mas dava pra ver que não tinha sido passado uma escovinha). essas grandes redes tem que melhorar muito o atendimento e condições, porque mesmo sendo uma opção mais acessível, não é barato!

I've stayed at a few Ibis Hotels and I always assumed they were located in safe areas. Ibis Obelisco in Buenos Aires is in a prime location, for example. Same with Ibis in Lapa, Río de Janeiro. This one shocked me. The cab driver that picked me up at the airport told me this is the better of the two Ibis in the city, making the Ibis at the Airport the safest. Granted, there is a shopping center not 5 blocks away but there are no other activities to be done in the neighborhood, no restaurants other than the food court in the shopping center. I wouldn't consider coming back. That said, it was very popular and other customers may not feel as uncomfortable about it as I did.

Very nice hotel with a fulfilling breakfast with various fruits, breads, cheese. Friendly and helpful stuff. Close (walking diatance) to bus and train station but not a good idea to walk at night. I did it during the day with no problems.
