Hotel Alabin Central

PROS: centrally located to everything and transportation; they allowed me to check in at 10:00 a.m. instead of waiting until 2:00 p.m. at no extra charge. CONS: Upon entering the hotel I was hit with an overwhelming stench mixed with moldiness (that’s the best way to describe it). No elevator. Walked two flights up to my floor. Couldn’t locate my room because it was located in a very dimly lit area with three doors off the main hallway. The room was very small (not an issue for me) but no WiFi, no towels, no phone, no coffeemaker or kettle, no microwave, no safe, no towels, a thin sheet over a mattress (same for the pillow case). Two thin and dirty smelly blankets in the cupboard. Two small soap bars and a small packet each of shampoo and conditioner. I Went outside and when I returned a woman was spraying liquid on the carpeted steps and using a broom or mop to scrub them. The moldy smell remained through my stay at the hotel. I asked for towels and she brought me one. She said I could only get one towel. The property did not respond when I asked for a second towel. I stayed 3 days/3 nights and not once saw anyone at the reception and not once was the room cleaned or the garbage removed I was instructed by text to leave the key in the reception desk when I checked out. I would not stay here again.

My room didnt lock from the inside and when complaining about it to the hotel staff which i didnt see until at all until the day i left they told me theres nothing they can do about it

Great location, easy access to city’s attractions and ability to visit most of the sights within walking distance.

They advertise that they have wifi and laundry. The wifi only works if you sit on an uncomfortable couch by the front desk. There is no laundry service at all. False advertising, slow to respond, and there were cockroaches in the bathroom. Would not stay again.

It was a terrible experience No one on the reception EVER. I asked for new towels and Toilet paper over whatsapp they said we will provide in the morning. no one appeared in the morning. no one cleaned the room ever . It was a horrible experience. Imagine you don't even have toilet paper!

The door would not lock at the property and wouldn’t even close. It was a nightmare checking in with phone calls having to be made just to get a key to get in. The button we were have to get into the building wouldn’t work

Decor in need of major refurbishment, tired colours. Beds very comfy and linen was clean. No lifts.

DON'T COME HERE EVER. Avoid this place. They have no hot water. They didn't warning us prior arrival. We came to reception and they say no hot water. Smells dump. All dirty, carpet discussing. All these things and they didn't refund us. We bought via expedia they didn't help us either.

I had to prepare my bed myself. The rooms are very old, the bathroom was smelly and dirty and water was leaking everywhere. No hot water and one could hear everything from neighbors. the only good side is the location, near to everything in the city center

Strange place. No reception. Dirty hallways carpet. Full of stains. No stuff. But rooms are clean.

The hotel is in a nice area in the downtown of Sofia. However, the bathroom shower area was a bit filthy, the door of the bathroom didn't close properly, and the floor of the room was not properly clean.

I spent a good deal of time wondering what the big red stain on the curtains could be, and finally decided that even the good answers were pretty bad, and left. Was able to find a hotel in a nicer area for just $5 more, and it was very much worth the upgrade. This hotel was really creepy. Check-in was with the Chinese restaurant next-door. Room was small and located down a ramshackle hallway. Weird sounds at night. Location is pretty good, but I would not recommend to anyone.

Horrible place

You get what you pay for. Great location but very old and smelly hotel

The location is excellent! Excellent transport route. It is in the middle of the city. There was no one at reception when i arrived about 22:30. Got help from someone to ring the number on the front door and they brought the key and the fob. I didn’t see any kettle, tea or coffee. It is basic but cool, as you can get coffee at next door restaurant.

The location is good, there isn't much choice of budget hotels central. I would stay again but the front desk isn't 24hours and you've got to be patient to check-in. But the staff was very helpful and helped me with a taxi.
