What Guests Say About Their Stay

Joseph

10.0
/ 10
Jianguo Garden Hotel is now the place I would stay when I visit Beijing. The hotel is about 20 years old and its facilities are showing its age. What makes up for this "weakness" is the reasonable price for its rooms, and the excellent location--right in the heart of Beijing where the wonderful malls are, and close to a subway station, from where one can get to everywhere in the mega city. Above all, the staff makes an extra effort to accommodate guests' needs. For example, the young man at the reception took time to get my express mails taken care of; and my request to check-out at 2:00 p.m. was gracefully accommodated. I only expected this kind of service at 5 or 6 star hotels where I have to pay much much more. Joseph

Amazing. Great food in hotel restaurants. Room is clean and comfortable. Shower is too strong. Waste a little bit water. But still give it a five stars.

I had two stays bracketing a tour of China. It's 200 yards east of Dongdan metro stn - Google map incorrectly places it southwest. Good central location, 2 km walk or metro west to Tiananmen Sq & Forbidden City. Clean slick business hotel, excellent buffet breakfast, cheap eats just north of metro station.

When I booked the trip it says "free wifi". However, when I checked in I was told I need a Chinese SIM card before I can use the wifi. Basically, when you try to login you need to enter your China phone number. The system will then send you a verification code to use. I did not have access to wifi during my stay. It is very convenient location.

Understand the map of the location very clearly. If you call the hotel to ask for direction, after you get out of the Metro, you will be lost. Limited English speaking people. I could not get clear directions at all. Their are a few good English speaking people working. But they are not that often present in the front lobby. Excellent location of the hotel. Wonderful and friendly people, but for communication. In general Coffee is expensive in Beijing, watch out for coffee drinkers.
