The good part… the bed, linens, television was new, big, good signal. Central location on a busy corner. Internal sliders successfully block the street noise. Ceiling fan.
The bad.. breakfast should be included.
The worst. The pizzeria that opens into the courtyard is used for parties. This means loud, live , amplified music. So loud that you cannot watch the television and certainly cannot sleep. I stayed for more than a week. I will be returning to Popayan but I will never again stay at La Plazuela.These noisy parties are very inconsiderate to hotel guests and ruined my experience.

Charming and Aesthetically pleasing heritage structure, kind staff, great location, spacious rooms, modern bathrooms, but TERRIBLE HARD beds - took painkillers to sleep. They charge for the very small breakfast they offer - a set menu, and it’s not good. We would choose a different property next time. #1 most important hotel rule - a comfortable bed. Everything else is fluff…🙂

Sound reverberates through this hotel and conversations, footsteps, and restaurant noise is amplified. Outside street noiae is loud, too. It's quiet through the night, though, as el centro shuts down relatively early here.

Great place. Unfortunately our room was facing a busy street so was very noisy. We were frequently awakened by car horns. Get a room on the quiet side.

Beautiful outside and courtyard. Our room was in the second back courtyard, and a bit more modern than I thought it would be - with slight smell (sewage?) and non-functioning safe. Breakfast was disappointing: served (non-buffet) American breakfast, with no other options (e.g. Colombian food would have been great).

Very atmospheric, clean and comfortable room with a safe. Wonderful staff and excellent location.
Across the street from a beautiful church.
I did not have any hot water in my room, however, so needed up change rooms.

Popayán's center is a wonderful place. And this hotel was a perfect example of the quite beauty. The room was spacious, clean, and relatively quite, especially being on the street side. The bed was somewhat hard, but otherwise the room was very comfortable.
On future trips, we will definitely stay again.

The location of the hotel is awesome...within short walking distance to the main square and historic area. They've done a beautiful job of renovating the hotel...the decor, inside square and dining area match the colonial elegance of the city. The room is clean and comfortable. Double beds are small, pillows are a bit hard and no toiletries in bathroom like shampoo.

Hotel is centrally located to most historical attractions. It is nice and clean but the reception desk is very unprofessional. They didn't want to honor my expedia reservation. I had to print out the mail with the reservation in a different place. This was awkward as it was late and I was tired. The clerk lied about multiple policies. Be aware as this office scans your passports and hopefully they dont do anything with them. I would choose a cheaper hotel there are plenty on the area without this nuisances.
