We had a beautiful view of the serene coast. We saw numerous animals just from our window and deck--more from the dining area!! The meals were out of this world--delicious, more than enough, great presentation, variety. We swam daily at the picturesque "private' beach. Ideal location with hiking trails abound! The best trail was to Rio Claro-clear water, hanging ropes, lush surroundings. Most important, Daniel, the manager was ever-present, friendly, giving advice and recommendations to keep you safe, entertained, and relaxed.

Just paradise! Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and beautifully presented. Just stop outside the door to see Macaws, monkeys, Toucans and even a Sloth! This was a highlight of our travels so far in Costa Rica. Also I feel good value for your dollar. Def will recommend to my friends when I get home. Please remember that Drake Bay and Corcovado are quite remote. Don’t expect the fluff from a 5 star hotel. I love this place and hope to return one day. Special thanks to Yolanda and Daniel!

Beautiful lodge in the jungle with a view of the Pacific. The rooms are simple, but very clean and as comfortable as can be without AC (but with a ceiling fan). Rates include a good breakfast and dinner. Daniel & team are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Great place to recharge and a good base for diving and Corcovado tours (which can pick you up from the beach).

We truly enjoyed our stay at Las Caletas. It is in a very beautiful and private location on a gorgeous cove (caleta) abounding with wildlife. The food was wonderful. Dinners were creative and beautifully presented. Lunches were traditional Costa Rican food and also very good. The staff was awesome, particularly Daniel the manager/consierge/waiter. Besides just being a great guy to talk to, his energy, attentiveness, attention to detail and concern for his guests and the staff were unparalleled by anything I have experienced in my many years traveling in Costa Rica. I highly recommend the whales and dolphins tour. The area has a year round megapod of 1000 spotted dolphins that is absolutely amazing to see, hear and swim with. We stayed in a tent which was plenty comfortable but nothing special. We had stayed in one there years ago. We will be back.

The site is absolutely amazing. There are many places in the Drake bay you can go for, but only one with breathtaking views from top of the small ridge where Las Caletas is situated. From the greetings to lodging, over layout of the facilities and cuisine on site, it is perfect. It provides you with a family establishment vibe-you are welcomed as a valued guest, and the staff is super courteous and professional. Federico is doing a superb job, catering to last minute wishes re: activities in the Osa peninsula, having a spotless hall/dining space. The cuisine they are able to provide in the middle of jungle is healthy, tasty and perfectly prepared. Johana who was attending to our needs during our stay is very professional too. We loved our stay very much, and would definitely recommend people wishing for some extraordinary experience. Again, the setting and the services provided are outstanding. If you are tired of large resorts, anonymous environment that treats you as one of thousands in the year, go to Las Caletas. You will receive superb service and spend the vacation with no more than 5 tables dining. We loved it (Perk1-many resorts/villas, are on the beach, which deprives you of the unique view and perspective, from the birds eye overlooking the environment. The beach you can reach in less than 2 minutes, though;) (Perk2-you can enjoy the fauna and flora from the comfort of your sunbathing seat that outperforms some national parks we visited)

I've never been heartbroken to leave a hotel before, but the beauty of Las Caletas--along with the kindhearted staff--made me want to move in permanently. The tent cabinas are immaculate and comfortable, with sweeping views of the ocean and jungle and incredible opportunities to spot macaws and toucans, monkeys and other wildlife. The meals are superb--the dinner chef is a master, and his desserts--as well as meat and vegetarian options--are delicious. The grounds are gorgeous, and every member of the lodge staff--from the delightful women in the kitchen to the charming waiter Danny and the truly lovely manager Federico--make one feel instantly at home. Don't miss the hour long walk to Rio Claro for freshwater swimming. An hour in the other direction, through the jungle, takes you past one stunning beach after another to the small town of Drake where you can eat, shop, and rent kayaks and paddleboards.

Amazing 3days at the Caletas lodge. The lodge is perfect for a family (3 kids from 11 to 13y) and ideally located in front of a secluded and beautiful beach. The owner David has been super helpful in recommending and organizing activities for our family. The room itself is super clean and functional but not luxurious (your are in the middle of the jungle though). Would definitely come back

We had a lovely stay for 5 nights in las caletas. The surrounding area is beautiful and full of wildlife. We were able to just walk out from the lodge along the coastal path. We also went diving to cano island and a trip to corcovado national park. All fantastic. Highly recommend las caletas if you are planning to visit drake bay. Much nicer than being in drake bay itself. The food is great.

This corner of paradise is a quick taxi and boat ride away from the Drake Bay airport, but feels like your own private island. Our family of four stayed three nights at Las Caletas, and wished we'd cancelled our next reservation and just stayed put. Situated just above the quiet, clean beach of your dreams, Las Caletas is all about service. The staff is delightful and responsive to your every need, and the kitchen was at the top of their game for the duration of our stay. The meals are fresh, filling, and never repetitive, right through to dessert. The cocktail hour was a highlight, as I could sit with my drink of choice and watch the fireflies flit around the garden as the moon came up. Gregorio, their tour guide for our Corcovado day trip, was immensely informative about the flora and fauna of the country, as he studies biology at university, and has made a career of it. He took the time to discuss plants and animals we saw, and shared insights into viewing the most elusive of birds and animals on the Osa peninsula. Our dive trip to Caño Island, organized through Las Caletas, was another great success, and is a can't miss addition to your trip. Our rooms were immaculate and well appointed, but an additional chair on the deck would have been well received. The beach is shared with the neighboring property, but excepting the arrival of guests by boat, I never saw more than two or three people on the beach at any time. It truly was our own patch of paradise. We'll be back!

The resort was very very pleasant, and I wish we could have stayed longer. The meals were excellent and the size of the resort was just right. It was small enough to be congenial. The grounds were lovely and with lots of birds. We did the snorkeling excursion to Cano Island, which was enjoyed. I stayed one night in a platform tent with a double bed prior to a 2 night trip to the Corcovado National Park. Upon return a friend and I stayed in the duplex room (2 bedroom). The platform tent room was almost as expensive for a basic tent and shared bathroom as thee duplex room. The duplex room was much much nicer than the tent. It had a small balcony on both levels. The bath was especially nice. Both accommodations were clean and comfortable.
