Monteverde Villa Lodge

Our little cabin was a great base for my 2 kids and I to explore Monteverde. Beds were very comfortable (but helpful to have earplugs for the fierce winds at night!) and breakfast was delicious. The property is beautiful and well-maintained. Since we had rented a car, it was nice to stay somewhere with convenient parking for coming in and out while also being within easy walking distance of town.

It was fine as a base for exploring Monteverde and surrounds. Staff were super helpful with booking tours so we didn't have to think about any of that. Room was a bit dated and dark but ok for the price. Breakfast was ok, not amazing but fine. Location is good and you can walk into San Elena. A good option so long as you are out and about all day and not planning on spending too much time at the hotel.

Quiet setting. Very helpful and friendly staff! Almost like staying at a resort in the country, although it was quite walkable from town.

Just a lovely place to stay. So convenient to all attractions (we had a car). Feels rustic and serene. Their can and dog are also friendly. I would recommend.

So I want to write a review of this property because i really like it, everything was perfect and would highly recommend it for stays in the town. The staff are really helpful, its an easy walk to restaurants and stores, rooms are comfortable, breakfast was fine. However i want to take this space to really complain about Expedia. I have used their services for years but i was sooooo frustrated with them. I booked this hotel by mistake. When i tried to contact expedia immediately I could not get ahold of a real person to try to cancel the reservation. It was listed as an irreversible booking, but when i contacted the hotel immediately they said i could reverse it by contacting expedia. I wound up driving to the hotel and taking the room anyway but it made me furious at Expedia that they couldn’t tell me whether i could cancel it or not. All i wanted was an answer, all i got was a AI bot who just kept “ working on it” for 18 hours. Shame on expedia!!!! I’m hoping that i may get a response by writing this review.

Lovely staff and really well kept, if admittedly spartan, facilities. The breakfasts are great and the location is within easy walking distance of one of the town's best sodas. The staff are excellent at managing expeditions and tours as well. Finally, while the bed was small and the hot water did flicker, the room held a real charm to it nestled among the trees. A good place to stay.

Such a lovely spot tucked just outside of town. Simple but lovely accommodations. The staff went out of their way to meet every need. The room was comfortable but the bathroom needed hooks to hang towels. The best part was the feeling of being up in the trees being blown with the branches.

Very nice place to stay. You can walk a short distance to some good food. Tour recommendations were good.

You feel like you are staying in a tree house. All staff were super helpful. We got great tips about activities for us septuagenarians.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was great. However the room were a bit of a dissapointment. The tv was dated and very poor reception. We could not connect our amazon fire stick on rainy nights as old tv model. No complimentary teas or coffees in the room after a tiring day at Park. The room was very dark and dull especially as lights were dull and never brightened up. The hot water ran out quickly so the last two out of four in room certainly had cold showers not nice after a rain shocked time there.

We liked the location, walkable distance to the downtown (10min). Good breakfast and friendly staff. Since the property on the hill, it can get windy and somewhat noisy.

Very friendly staff. The rooms are very bright and private with view on the patio. Breakfast was good.

Good location, a bit off road though. Good breakfast, beautiful cabins amongstthe tree and bushes. The front desk receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall good experience.

The hosts Cristina were very accomodative and helpful. The person at the reception on the 22nd Dec evening was amazing. Overall a great place

The rooms were spacious , clean and well maintained.

Amazing staff- very helpful and friendly. Surrounding area is not the best. There is a triangle road of souvenir shops and a coffee place. Cool Treehouse Restaurant with excellent food.
