What a find! Needed a hotel asap as our camper needed extended time at Grarage so couldn’t go to our booked campsite. Booked at 4 Friday and arrived at 7:30pm and this was half term! Wasn’t expecting much but our spacious room was incredible, double fronted window directly over looking beach, incredible sunrise each morning over water. Used Tesco club points so only cost a few pounds. Reasonable rates anyway. Friendly staff. Decor is not tasteful but that didn’t bother us, pleasant and clean everywhere. Ask early if you want a parking permit but free overnight carparking is a 8 minute walk away if you miss out.

We stayed in Room 22. Grrat views of the beach and Weymouth Bay. Check in was easy. There is no reception, you ring the bell or call the number posted on the door. We were met by Dean who checked us in. The room is up 2 flights of stairs and was warm, but after opening the windows, it cooled down. There were no fans, but my portable fan did help at night. A full, hot, made-to-order beakfast was included. The property faces the main street did get noisy with traffic in the morning, more so on Friday than Saturday. We would stay there again.

Our room 12A was really poor. The mattresses were the worst we had for decades, exceeded their lifecycle for years. Very rotten carpet, bathroom 40y old, including the smell, scented pillows from the gas station in the bathroom and wardrobe. Only the chef preparing the eggs in the morning was really nice and friendly. Go for another option in Weymouth, I do not understand were the good ratings came from.

Bedrooms were basic with a very small shower area. The windows needed a little renovation (paint, etc). However, the bedroom was large and the B&B very clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was exceptional.

Also room was freezing when we came in in afternoon and when we got up in morning only way to get warm was to get in bed , the window and balcony door was opened upwhile we were out and left open despite being the middle of winter the radiators came on at 5pm ,the good point was the breakfasts and service were excellent ,Not suitable for disabled

Room 11 was small, but very pleasant. Problem with Weymouth is parking. We parked overnight for free in the car park, but had to move the car by 8am. so missed breakfast as we could not be bothered to feed the meter and walk back to the hotel.

Room was clean, breakfast lovely and staff helpful, stayed in Room 1 , definitely need a grab rail in the shower as step down is about 10 inches which isn't good for elderly or people with mobility issues and needs towel rails in bathroom, Dean was really helpful finding us a table for our room which we could play dominoes on, Expedia need to remove from their website that the property has a mini golf and tennis, they don't!! This annoyed us as we chose this place for the mini golf but would stay again.

Last minute need for a place to stay and i was really happy I chose A Maiden Rest. Dean was really great at communication in terms of ensuring I would be able to access the place properly and have a good place to park my car. Free wifi but I didnt need it. The room was great, clean and smart, everything worked and had been well looked after. The bed was comfy and I slept well. The road is a little noise at the front but youre right on the esplanade so no way around that. Sea view! Right there - lovely to wake for on the balcony and watch the first beach-goers. Breakfast was lovely and served with a smile 😃
