Angel Inn Hotel

The hotel rooms are tired and the shower was so weak that you had to run around to get wet. On the plus side, the food was good and the staff were excellent.

Very clean hotel

All very good! Room/bathroom lovely and very clean. The ambiance around the hotel felt good. I ordered room service, my food was very good. Bar prices are also reasonable, I must say, cheaper than around Oxfordshire! so that was very well received by myself and good quality alcohol it was indeed.

A wonderful hotel full of character. Only stayed the 1 night but would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Lovely comfortable, clean and welcoming hotel with great staff. We had a lovely evening meal and a great breakfast with so much choice.Huge comfortable king size bed in a very smart bedroom.Really recommend it.

Our bedroom was tastefully decorated and clean. It was a spacious room, with a good ensuite bathroom. The bed was comfortable, with nice bedding. The breakfast menu was exrensive, with some great options. Our food was well cookwd and tasty. All of the hotel.staff were friendly, professional and helpful

Great family get together using one of the hotel function rooms.

Friendly and efficient staff. The hotel has attractive cosy interiors and a super outside bar area. The twin room is large and very well appointed, with a large & bright bathroom. We had probably the best steak and ale pie we have ever eaten, and the starters and desserts and other main courses also looked very tasty.

Great overnight stay at the Angel. There was a wedding there so it was busy but we were still excellently looked after.

Service on Sunday was pretty bad. It wasn’t overly busy when we arrived, maybe 5 tables. Waited to check in and was shown to our room. Went down for food. Barman was flustered getting drinks out for tables, with just one person serving and doing drinks. Ordered food. Was ok, but I had to get my own cutlery from the waiting station. When plates were cleared we were asked if we wanted pudding. We said yes but no one came to take the order and then the kitchen closed. Room was a great size, and perfectly adequate given its a 400 year old building….although I wasn’t counting on getting an authentic mattress from the period. I travel a lot for business and it’s rare to find a spring only mattress. Awful and uncomfortable, like I was laying directly on springs! Breakfast was ok. Wife had avocado on ciabatta with poached egg. Avocado was from a pot. I don’t mind paying for a premium experience. I don’t like paying for the appearance of a premium experience. Can be much better.

Really nice welcoming clean hotel. Dog was made very welcome, even had a bag of treats waiting for him in the room. Hotel next to the main eateries and pubs etc. Food and drink available in the pub which is very good. Will stay again.

Great stay. Friendly staff, central location

We stayed for one night. The lady who checked us in was very polite and friendly. The garden bar was beautiful, again with friendly staff. Room was nice and clean. The shower was unusable as would go from freezing cold to extremely hot and keep flickering between both no matter how much we tried to adjust it. The bed was very soft, not to are liking but that a personal preference. Evening meal was average.
