An excellent find! This was an outstanding hotel despite only booking for a one night stay. The room was clean, warm, comfortable with everything we needed. The building is stunning and the member of staff on duty was friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet despite being on a busy main road. There is a bus stop just nearby but it is only a 10 minute walk to Balham station/centre. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. Many thanks

Was lovely comfortable and warm but im a stickler for cleanncrisp sheets. Sadly the fitted sheet just looked old and stained. Time for new I’d say!

I had a confirmed, prepaid booking at Balham Lodge for my family. After a long drive with our two-year-old, we arrived shortly before ten in the evening. We were told the room had been given away minutes earlier to someone who booked later that night. This was not a mix-up. They knowingly handed our room to another guest and left us with nothing. The receptionist was the same person who, the day before, insisted the booking could not be cancelled. Twenty-four hours later he was checking in a later booking and informing me our room was gone. That tells you everything you need to know about how this place operates. We were left outside at night with a restless child, searching for somewhere else to stay. We didn’t secure another hotel until close to midnight and had to pay far more for it. The disruption derailed the start of our weekend and forced us to spend the next morning recovering instead of doing what we came to London for. This establishment cannot be trusted to honour a confirmed reservation. Anyone expecting basic professionalism should avoid it.

Clean room, easy parking, friendly staff.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very small, which was usable; however, the shower and bathroom space was so narrow that it was difficult to wash and get ready. I enjoyed the proximity to the park, restaurants, and tube. The lodge felt safe and was definitely a good value.

Staff were great and room was very clean

We were on the top floor so the water pressure wasn’t great - had a very awkward shower. Sloped ceiling and the WiFi didn’t reach us so had to walk bent over half the time and go downstairs to use the internet. It was quite clean but the mattresses seemed pretty budget. Was quirky to look at and good access. Neighbourhood seemed pretty quiet.

Excellent hotel with very friendly and helpful staff and always a great price. Stay there regularly and will continue to do so. A hidden gem and would highly recommend.

Lovely guesthouse, kept spotlessly clean, with wonderful, very pleasant and extremely helpful staff. Located in a nice area with an easy walk into Balham which has a multitude of restaurants and feels safe. Would fully recommend and definitely use again

Very friendly staff and very close to Belham tube station. Room was very clean and tidy with coffee and tea available
