We’ve been here a couple of times now but our most recent stay was to remember our 20th wedding anniversary. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. The staff have been and always are a delight. Friendly, polite and cannot help enough. Thank you for making our stay delightful as always.

The hotel is ideally located to enjoy the best of Buxton. It is beautifully decorated, with a real sense of luxury. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Staff were helpful and polite. My only disappointment was the breakfast service and in all truth this was completely unacceptable. It was apparent that the kitchen and service was heavily understaffed, which impacted upon the cleanliness, insufficient stocks on the buffet service and delays serving food. Most people had a 45min delay for hot breakfast, and this resulted in us and a number of other guests requesting refunds. The serving staff were very apologetic and just looked worn out and embarrassed.

Everything about our stay was excellent until breakfast when we had to wait 45 minutes for our meal. We felt sorry for the breakfast room waiters and waitresses and reception staff who were working so hard and who unfairly had to bear the brunt of people's complaints about the slowness of the kitchen. Admittedly the breakfast restaurant was very busy and when it finally arrived the food was excellent. However, the hotel needs to address this problem unless it was a one off.

A lovely stay in a beautiful hotel with an excellent spa. The facilities in the spa are first rate and the opening times mean you can make the most of this during your stay. I also liked the fact you could get ready in your room and had the rooms and flip flops there ready for you. Our room was beautiful. Very comfortable and clean. Only downside was breakfast. It was okay but some items were missed off out cooked breakfast and the quality didn’t match the setting. The hotel bar is beautiful and well worth a visit. Great location and would visit again

Excellent hotel and spa but please get some more staff for reception and dining. Food was absolutely lovely but they are rushed off their feet and can’t keep up. Management should not be allowing a 5 star to have so few staff on for breakfast on a Saturday morning and we shouldn’t be kept waiting at reception. The staff are working so hard, it is not their fault. You need more man power.

The Crescent Hotel has been a favourite of ours since it reopened! We noticed the improvement in management since Champneys have taken it over! Marmalade at breakfast would have been appreciated but otherwise excellent! Our massages were also very good!

Outdoor pool was Excellent 👌👍 poolside pool facilities excellent several pools like thermal pool spa pool highly recommend. Breakfast good but chaotic the first day they were slow clearing tables queues to get in perhaps more staff helping with this?. Room..Generally clean...thoufh.drops a point for this am afraid. So clean bedding, had to ask for towel change...I 🤔 they are given set amount of time to turn round rooms. There was a caramel colour substance on both bath towels and on wall near the bathroom door when we arrived. Asked for fresh towels day after ..

Excellent situation and well-presented property. The check in process lacked sufficient room because of the placement of loose chairs. We were allocated one of very few rooms which required us to go up or down a flight of stairs to reach. As a couple approaching 80 years old this was not ideal. The service at breakfast was appalling. The person who showed us to our table took our drinks order and on one of the 4 days we stayed it took 3 requests and 45 minutes for us to receive a pot of tea and a latte. The only day that we received a timely service was on the last day when we had a train to catch and I pointed out our previous experience to the waitress. The arrival of cooked breakfasts was an issue too at another table they complained that they had been waiting over an hour. Our neighbours at breakfast on our last day whose drinks order had been overlooked had dined in the restaurant the night before and waited an hour and a half for their food. It is the only hotel in which I have stayed which made an additional charge to use its swimming pool. This was not the case previously but the new management (Champney’s) has clearly put cost-cutting above customer satisfaction.

Yet again another excellent stay at The Crescent, Buxton. Such a wonderful place to stay. The rooms have been upgraded but still have the charm of the old building. Central to all amenities' and great places to eat:- Kwei Lin (Chinese eat in) is well worth a visit along with Baileys restaurant & Bar. It has so many beautiful gardens and places to walk round to.

My room was nice and clean. My bed was comfortable. My breakfast was very unsatisfactory, not the level of 4* hotel. You even get better in 3*. I was surprised to find out that it cost£25 pounds to use gym, or swimming pool. In all hotels I stayed it was included in the price for the room. Location suited me as I came for the opera. Around the corner there are a few ok restaurants. I was told that dinner on Crescent is nit good and much overpriced . Parking cost £30 .pet night. So at the end they drain your purse. Be ready.

Checking was swift and efficient. Our room was fine - very good bed, iron & ironing board, good bathroom wit powerful shower and Elemis toiletries. The spa and pools are extensive - several small pools and numerous saunas and steam room. Breakfast menu was extensive though I felt the quality of the hot breakfast didn’t live up to the luxury badge of the hotel
