My sister and I spent just a couple of nights here and truly fell in love with the house and staff. Every interaction was easy and kind, the house was incredibly well kept, and the grounds were gorgeous. It's located a bit out of the way which is perfect for minimizing crowds and noise! Our room was perfectly sized and the bed/bedding comfortable. All in all, a 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in any stage of life.

Very pretty country location. The rooms including common rooms were all lovely. The tiny bathrooms were cramped and windowless and let the property down. Breakfasts were lovely, with lots of choice. We didn’t have dinner there, as prices were over the top, compared with what we were paying in other locations on our trip around the UK.

My teenage son and myself spent two nights at the Ees Wyke Hotel. The room (peach) was small but clean and comfortable and suited our needs. The public rooms were not really to our taste - floral sofas and outdated decor, however the views of the lake are stunning. Breakfast was ok - freshly cooked was excellent, but the buffet limited volume, and some items which ran out were not replenished. However, our trip was completely ruined by a confrontation by the manager as we were finishing breakfast on the 2nd day. He accused me of not paying enough for our room - I booked through Hotels.com the full price quoted, and in good faith for 2 adults bed and breakfast. I felt quite quite intimidated, as a woman travelling alone with my son, however stood my ground - I certainly was not paying him any extra! For this reason I would never return.

This is a beautiful small hotel in a fabulous location. But the staff and attention to making your stay amazing is what makes the hotel so special. The breakfasts are feasts - cooked to order with excellent choices and with lots of fruit, yoghurt and cereal as well. Our room was extremely comfortable with a superb view. Not a sound to be heard at night. We have stayed in many hotels over the years in the Lake District and have now found the one we will return to. I'd also like to come back in the winter and enjoy the wood fires, reading in the gorgeous sitting room, looking out at the view.

The inside of this country home was just delightful. Loved our stay - the staff, the food, the beautiful views. Lots of thought has gone into guest conveniences and extra touches that made our stay great. The bedrooms are not big but there are a couple of lounges and a good drinks selection that we enjoyed. I would return anytime!

Hotel situated on quiet west side of Windermere overlooking a beautiful unspoilt private water. Team is first class for professionalism, competence and sense of humour. If you like a country house hotel, this is for you. Lovely rooms, wonderful views. Chef/Patron Richard looks to cook great food without pretension. Hence the regular awards for good food in the dining room. The staff were excellent without exception. Wonderful views acrossLake Etterthwaite with ospreys nesting on opposite bank. Visit the cafe across the lake from the hotel to see the chicks on the live camera feed. Only 2 miles from the Hawkshead side of the Windermere ferry. However if coming from the Coniston end stay on the B5285 and ignore the sat nAv if you want to avoid some narrow roads.
