Holiday Inn Express WAKEFIELD by IHG

Had a problem with a water logged carpet in the room during the stay, reported to receptionist and moved to another room quickly and without any fuss. Room had all the amenities needed and was nice and warm. Breakfast options good and food was plentiful and warm.

Good . No major issues. I would recommend firmer mattresses for bed though.

The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was spotless and airy and very clean. Even got a toothbrush and toothpaste from reception as I'd forgotten mine absolutely free! The staff i encountered were all very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Ideal location in the centre of Wakefield

Rooms had all the amenities required, Breakfast good quality, bar and lounge area good. Only problem not many spaces in car park, but adjacent reasonable priced multi carpark.

Situated in a dirty noisy area, bed not comfortable and pillows either to high or to low nothing in between so not a great night sleep , room 401 do nt take as next to lift and people have no respect late at night

Very clean room and a a good unhurried breakfast

The bed was so uncomfortable, my girlfriend ended up in the middle of the bed and kept slipping down due to what we believe was a worn out matress. Her back and shoulder are still suffering due to the bed and we even tried to turn the matress half waybthrough the night but thos did nothing. We notified staff in reception and hope they heeded our advice to change the matress. The other problem became aparent at breakfast time. We were told breakfast was up until 11am we came down at 10 am we were left with only toast , a tiny amount of scrambled egg and half a tomato each. When we asked for more to be bought out we were told bybstaff that breakfast finishes at 11 and no more food would be bought out due tonthe time. This should have been made clear that there was a shut of time for fresh food being bought out. So after another 6 people came down for breakfast and were met with the same situation a few things were cooked and bought out but not everthing we wanted was available which ruined breakfas, especially as it was all bought out in bits and pieces so never ate things together like a proper breakfast. We will not be returning .

Yes the room was clean, but a shower was not clean enough there was previous hair on the floor

The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The building is tired but it didn’t affect the cleanliness or the pleasant staff.

First it was very hard to find , don’t go off the pictures as the hotel and rooms are nothing like them , the hotel reception staff are very polite and welcoming I do feel for them , the building is old and not very clean there is a charge of £7 for overnight parking, the room I was on the top floor was big enough cleaned but could have been cleaner still bits and bobs on the carpet, kettle had water in it as did the iron , bathroom was clean plenty of towels all clean .bed very soft but you can exchange for a hard mattress, breakfast was bad not a lot of choice mostly cold and the toaster kept on having to be turned off as it was setting fire to the bread . One night stay for the money I paid was ok I suppose.
