Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel

Room was tidy, room got cold during our stay and couldn’t warm up. Room door was hard to open! Getting extra coffee and milk in the room, pain going from the 11th floor to reception to ask.

Everything just good

The room and hotel is more of a 3 star than 4. Bed was comfortable, room was clean but a bit tired. Shower was over the bath and was too low for me so I had to bend over to shower. Staff were mostly nice with one exception who appeared to be arguing with her manager at the front desk at the time. Breakfast was excellent and is the only reason that I may return. I am back in Manchester in a couple of weeks and the same room is over £100 more so I am staying elsewhere. There are lots of good hotels in Manchester, others have been better.

Room was clean and well presented however the main let down was the temperature. It was very cold upon arrival and it was difficult to warm the room up. There had been a mobile heater left available to use in the room which suggests the hotel clearly was aware of the issue. Bathroom was clean but dated, and shower leaked onto the floor. Staff upon check in very friendly and welcoming and took time to inform us of directions to places around the city and recommend local points of interest.

I did not have breakfast at the hotel.

No heating in bedrooms so left early too cold to sleep.

The hotel is in a great location in the city center. The staff were welcoming, especially those at restaurant. I was disapointed that the room and bathroom wasn't cleaned to a high standard. Some areas in the room and bathroom like the sink and around the bath were obvious. Lack of towels in the room as we were only given one. The windows were also dirty, blurring the view outside. Its a great hotel but improvements will make it a much better experience.

Excellent location, comfortable bed and good breakfast with great view over Piccadilly Gardens. Friendly staff too!

Clean room, gluten free options for breakfast not as varied for meals not alot to offer on main menu needs improvement.

Very friendly & helpful staff! Lovely stay & perfect location! The room was spacious & very clean, can’t fault it! I think for the price too, it was good value for money!

Bathroom want clean

Rooms a bit outdated and small. Window in room didn’t close properly so freezing. Car parking was a bonus.

Bit dated

Our recent stay did not meet the level of quality or hospitality we expected. We arrived approximately 21 minutes prior to the stated check-in time and hoped to check in slightly early if the room was ready. Unfortunately, this was not possible. While we understand policies around check-in times, we were disappointed to learn that early check-in was unavailable without an additional fee, even if the room may have been ready. 21 minutes is not a time allowance that would warrant a fee. The room itself appeared aesthetically tired. There was chipped paint in the bathroom, the mattress felt like cardboard and the bathroom door did not close securely without significant effort. These issues contributed to the overall impression that the room fell below the standard we anticipated. We would normally choose to dine on-site; however, given the missing elements of expected hospitality and the overall condition of the room, we opted not to do so. The experience felt more in line with a budget-value accommodation rather than the quality advertised. We hope this feedback is taken constructively and used to improve the guest experience going forward
