Location is great to get around London. Hotel rooms are currently being refurbished. We did not get a refurbished room. The walls needed painted (marks all over them), beds and pillows lumpy and marks (stains) on the mattress. The hairdryer didn't work. Called reception and after 20 mins of no replacement i had to flag down a cleaner to get me another one. No tea/coffee tray or kettle in the room. We did see another guest in the life carrying one to another room. This hotel could be so much more and maybe worth staying in if you get a refurbished room.

Since our last stay in November 2025 which was fine. I wish we never booked this time and feel we should have had the option of a refund when it change ownership. The room was disgusting, no kettle, no usb port, stains on the bedding, mold on the ceiling, rust on the radiator, the heater was tipping over due to a wheel missing …. The list could go on ….. then to be asked to pay £20 to leave a small backpack and mini case for a few hours, when last time this was free. Asked to speak to a manager and got told to send an email!! And have still not received a reply …. Speaks for itself! This hotel should be removed from your site!

Where to begin? I’ve stayed at this hotel a great many times over the last 7/8 years. Its most attractive qualities were always location - its extremely central - and price, which was always reasonable. I have watched the standard go down and down on so may fronts and after this stay I will no longer be back. Mouldy curtains in the room, no tea and coffee, charging £10 per-bag *pre-check in* and staff who so obviously hate their jobs that they’re utterly uninterested in anything resembling customer service. I hesitate to say it but it has become a dump. This hotel was never glitzy but you paid for what you got, which was a basic, clean hotel that’s a decent price. Now it is overpriced for the product and service received. In addition, if you reserve to pay on arrival they insist on adding breakfast to your booking - something that’s about clawing more money. The breakfast is like slop. I regret having to leave this review but the new management has not improved things - despite some rooms being more modern or furnished. I will not be back.

I will not stop at the Saint Giles again,I’ve stayed there several times over the years with my sister great locatio To be charged £10 to leave a case for two hours And then leaving to be charged £10 leave case until the train late afternoon We had paid for upgrades and was given a small twin Never stayed in such a small room. When I checked my bank when I got home, they had charge me £80 altogether to leave my cases We use the restaurant before we left. Our bill was £60 and then we was charged £10 service charge. We have stayed at the St Giles many times over at least 15 years, but the rooms have become very tired over that time. It has recently changed hands, first indications of change are the bar closing at 12.30, not a problem, and the previously free luggage storage now costing £10 per item. This was a complete shock. We didn't pay it, had we known in advance we might have shared on case instead of one each, but it still seems a very unpleasant charge.

Room was cleaned well daily although a few hairs were on bed linen which was no issue. The air conditioning units work fine however they feel quite dated and don’t offer much in the way of cooling the room. I did have to ask for extra pillows due to the lack of support from those offered in the room. The mattress was also extremely hard which may be an issue for some. Staff were very helpful and responsive when asking for extra pillows. The size of the room was very small with then en-suite feeling tiny, for my partner and I it was quite a squeeze! The room also lacked sockets by the bed, although they had USB-A ports by either side, our devices use USB-C so we were unable to use these. Unable to comment on breakfast as neither of us had this. The location is perfectly central and right next door to the Dominion Theatre which was great for us! The British Museum was only a 10-min walk away, TCR tube station was also a 4-min walk too.
