Lovely quiet room, very comfortable bed and good shower. Fabulous breakfast too.

Made very welcome and the food and drinks were excellent and well priced. All in all a great stopover for our onward journey so many thanks to our hosts.

Lovely location and pub. Cosy drinks by the fire and lovely atmosphere. Wasn’t to keen on the two flights of stairs that didn’t have handrails all the way up (at bottom and top) - only difficult at top and bottom as I have recently had a hip replacement. Room was okay - just a little awkward due to the shape of the room. Second bed didn’t have a side table. The radiator was against the bed so it had to be switched off. It was clean and the bottled water was nice touch. Breakfast was cooked to order. Good choice.

Comfortable room lovely dinner and breakfast

The stars for this venue are for the staff. Friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet; the bed comfortable. But, the room was too small for our liking. Perfectly acceptable for one night but could not envisage staying longer. Evening meal was fine and reasonably priced. Breakfast was OK.

Good basic and inexpensive overnight stop for the Lake District. Enjoyed our visit

Stayed for a night and the hotel was nice. The gluten free menu was an excellent surprise and staff were helpful and knowledgeable

Nice friendly team and great food

A friendly welcome, help with the cases, a spotless and comfortable room that looked to have been recently refurbished, a good range of choices for breakfast with excellent sausages and bacon. That's the hotel. The pub - good beer, a fine fire to sit near, spotless with no sticky patches on the bar top or on the floor. The owners should be justifiably proud of what they provide.

Fantastic pub and great rooms. Perfect place for a stop off as we head up to Scotland from southern England. Will stay again.

Nice room, good breakfast, friendly staff

Convenient for M6. Rooms clean although smaller than they appeared in photos. Staff very helpful and found a wireless charger for my son's 'phone which had a dodgy charging socket.
