Beautiful room and appreciated the upgrade. Such lovely surroundings and there were thoughtful touches in every spot, including have breakfast sandwiches delivered if you wanted to have breakfast in your room. The only (very minor) criticism was about the stone footpath...but tricky to navigate with a suitcase or any form of heels! Every other part of the hotel and the garden rooms was excellent.

Excellent location, 10 minutes walk to the beach, beautiful hotel, with excellent staff who were very engaging and helpful, from the gardener to the house keepers to the front of house staff. Would highly recommend.

We spent four mid week nights at the garden room.Itwas just what we needed a beautiful quiet spot to rest and enjoy Northumbria . It may be different when wedding or events are in full swing but I’m sure the staff and location will mean you have a wonderful time.

We stayed 5 nights — 3 in the Cosy Room, 2 in the Family Room. Overall a lovely, easy stay let down by several small maintenance issues that would be simple to fix. The good: - Staff were genuinely friendly throughout - Great walks nearby - Joiners Arms pub is a 5-minute walk away - Easy to get to, comfortable beds - Hot tub in the Family Room was a winner Room for improvement: - Ventilation: The room with the mini fridge/safe/hangers in the Cosy Room gets like a sauna. No airflow, and the fridge just adds heat - Water pressure: Bathroom tap in both rooms sprays hard every time you turn it on - Shower: Half-glass wall in both rooms; in the Cosy Room the shower space is small so water ends up everywhere - Flooring: Uneven laminate in the Cosy Room, mainly bathroom and fridge room - Garden: Not fully enclosed — lovely but keep an eye on dogs; a small gate would help - Breakfast: Hot food (avocado on toast, eggs on toast) took 35+ min both mornings at the Joiners Arms — felt disorganised. Continental options were fine. Bagged breakfast good for on-the-go, but missing condiments one day - Housekeeping: A few cobwebs in the bathroom; shower mat/towel wasn't replaced one day None of these are very bad items individually, but together they take the stay from great to just good. Address the small issues and this would easily be a 5-star spot.

The staff were very friendly. Sadly, the communication between the staff and us was poor and this resulted in no prepaid champagne on arrival and no breakfast on the final morning, despite these things having been communicated and confirmed many times prior to arrival. The main bedroom of the cabin was cosy and very clean but unfortunately parts of the bathroom were filthy, as was the outside area, which housed the hot tub and outdoor seating.

We had a lovely 2 night stay in one of the Garden rooms. Lovely quiet peaceful setting with lots of lovely flowers in the grounds. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Room had nice sitting area at front and garden area at the back. A fridge was very useful.Spacious room, comfy bed, large shower room. Dressing gowns provided and tea coffee, biscuits topped up both days. We could walk to beach in about 15 mins. Surrounding area is beautiful. There are 2 pubs within walking distance, both very busy so book in advance.

Excellent service from Marianna who welcomed us with a big smile and made us feel at home straight away! We were upgraded to a room with a hot tub which very spacious, clean, and had everything you would need, including towels, slippers, dressing gowns, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel. Outside the room, we had a decking area with chairs and a table surrounded by lovely shrubs and flowers- super peaceful and quiet to enjoy stargazing! Breakfast served at The joiners arms ( 5 mins walk) was more than adequate; you could choose from a selection of yoghurts, breads and pastries plus a choice of a hot breakfast. For one of the days, we had a grab and go- breakfast delivered to our room containing a carton of juice, hot sausage and bacon roll, yoghurt, water, fruit cereal bar and a piece of fresh fruit. This was very good as we could eat it on route for an early start. The location was perfect- 10 mins walk to the beach and ships in was perfect. Overall, we had an excellent stay and was a great base to see the main sites of Northumberland. We would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

We love coming here - the rooms are wonderfully designed and the location is great. We did feel this time that the room needed a bit of TLC and the cleaning inside and around the outside terraces could have been better. We opted for breakfast to the room, which was really convenient but didn’t feel as good value as what you would get from going to the Joiners Arms and quality was a bit lacking. However, overall you can’t beat this spot on a sunny day - thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
