Really nice hotel; friendly and welcoming

The staff were super lovely, food was great and the vibe of the hotel was so cosy! The room was a great size and well furnished. The bed was very very firm. Not the most wonderful nights sleep because of that and how much you can hear your neighbours. The bathroom was also a little unclean, not enough to warrant complaining but it felt like a few things were missed. I would absolutely go back again for food and drinks.

Staff amazing lovely hotel food was excellent just a great place.

The room was really really nice. We stayed in the room with the round stain glass Window, which was really beautiful. We’d travelled to the area to go to Chatsworth house for the Christmas market et cetera, which was great. Staff in the hotel were pretty friendly, more so in the restaurant than at the desk. The room was lovely although I would say that they need to change the carpet around the tub in the room as there were lots of water stains around it which spoilt the feeling of luxury slightly.

Perfect stay at the George. Beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming with very attentive staff. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and although it was at the front the traffic was not a problem. We had both breakfast and dinner for two nights and were not disappointed, plenty of choice and all beautifully cooked. All in all an excellent stay at a reasonable price. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

The staff where excellent, room was exceptional.

Great hotel, in a lovely location. The public areas, bar, lounge, restaurant etc are all beautifully decorated and well kept. We stayed 3 nights and eat in the hotel each night. The food was really good quality and well cooked. Same with the breakfast, although I would have preferred to see a continental selection layed out. Our room was individually decorated, but was marred by a couple of maintenence issues. We did speak to reception and they did try to resolve them, but unfortunately we were not able to open a window to let any fresh air in. This resulted in the room smelling musty, which spoilt things for me. That said, we would definitely stay again, in large part because the staff were all so helpful and lovely.

Everything was great - staff, room and food. Recommend.
