The Globe is perfectly located in the middle of town within walking distance to shops and waterfront. They offered a great breakfast and dinner menu alongside a cozy pub atmosphere. Housekeeping was excellent and our room was perfectly clean and restocked when we came back every day! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was Amazing!

We stayed here for one night to meet up with local friends. From the moment we arrived the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Our room was ready early, and was bigger than expected from the room description. We don’t usually like double beds, as prefer more room, but it was comfy and we slept well. Breakfast was delicious. When we did have an issue (not the pubs fault) with the app ordering at our table, they resolved it quickly and satisfactorily. Dog friendly, which is great. Will definitely stay here again.

Further attention needs to given to the fabric of the room and surroundings. We stayed in room 4. The carpet was worn and in need of replacement and some of the wood skirting board in the bathroom was rotten. In addition as the window was open I could see the wood on the ledge outside was also badly rotten and in need of replacement. On a positive note it was a hot evening and the Dyson fan provided worked well. Given a room rate in the order of £150 a night without breakfast these items need to addressed .

Stopping off in Devon for a few days break, we were very pleased with our stay at The Globe. While the property is very far from being an "all singing all dancing" modern hotel (no elevator for example); it has buckets of charm and is situated in an excellent location. Our room was certainly spacious and very clean and well appointed and everything worked perfectly. The bar was great fun - thank you - and Topsham supports very many restaurants, including two world class venues - but be warned: make sure to book well in advance! In addition Topsham is very well served by regular trains into Exeter and beyond and Exmouth - so it makes a great base to explore the South West coast. There were however a couple of negatives. Firstly, despite the clear guidance given by The Globe, the parking (unloading and loading) is a bit of a pain on the narrow street and the actual (paid) parking lot is some way from the hotel. Secondly the service in the restaurant was heart breakingly abysmal. Our dinner was clearly lovingly prepared by the kitchen, and then left to go cold before we got it. We also waited a very long time for drinks, as did many other tables, and the service itself was cursory to say the least (no offer to taste our wine for example, they just opened the bottle and brought it to the table). Would we go back? Yes, very probably. It's a very nice hotel with a great deal going for it - we would just choose to eat at one of the many other restaurants in town or in Exeter.

Great location with comfortable rooms. When you book they warn that there are no quiet rooms and they are correct. Our room above the bar was very loud, but once the bar closed at 11:30 it was quiet and we got a good nights sleep. A great place to stay in Topsham

Really pleased to have stayed here when on an overnight trip to Exeter. Had a lovely dinner in the evening in the restaurant. It was busy with all the Christmas groups but had a really good atmosphere and we were served quickly even though busy. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. Slept really well. It was nice being just outside Exeter and had a wander around small town and along the quayside before leaving. Would definitely stay again, with the friendly team looking after us. Only point is I think we were quite lucky to get last parking spot in the evening at the quayside carpark as town was very busy. Might have been difficult otherwise, and further way to walk.

A beautiful old fashioned pub in the village of Topsham which is stylishly furnished with a blend of old and new. The downside was our room was above the main bar and very noisy . Also no parking and no facility to purchase a ticket for the car park in advance resulting in having to wake up early to go on the app ! The food in the restaurant was fabulous!

Decent stay with a lovely styled, well equipped, very comfy room. Few key downsides to note… Ground floor room facing beer garden meant room was in full view & was very noisy until very late. This was expected as we often enjoy pub stays but door to room off the beer garden appeared to be an “internal” door with no insulation/sound dampening like a proper external door which meant it was like they were in the room with us. Water damage around the door suggests this is a long standing issue. Shower head was clogged with grime but a quick wipe when on full blast fixed it - minor point for the cleaning team as overall the room was very clean & in great order.
