I stayed here for 4 nights in April 2026. The double room i had needed a proper clean. The shower had a lot of scum build up around the edges. The towels smell foisty like they've not been washed hot enough (need to be 60 degrees to kill bacteria). I had to go buy my own towel as the second set of towels I got smelled the same which is not good. The double bed for me as a 6ft2 person was too small and had to sleep diagonal to fit due to the wooden frame (divan beds are better for hotels due to this issue for taller guests). The heating turned off at around 7pm and came back on at 6am. The first night I woke up freezing. There was no way to turn the heating on as its central. I had to go out and buy an electric heater for the other nights. The duvet and pillows could do with changing as they are old and duvet is too thin. I will say the bed sheets were clean though. There was black mould on parts of the ceiling and a hole in the door. The door handle was also loose. This place could be better if they paid attention to some of the details and please at a minimum wash the towels better! Ideally get new ones as these coloured ones looked very dated. I think this place used to be well looked after but its been run down a bit which is a shame.

As a budget hotel it’s ok for the price, but the decoration needs refreshing & the car park cleared of rubbish & boarders trimmed back - OK for isolated stays but not ongoing stays for professional people.

The woman sitting at a tiny table with a laptop got every room mixed up, I ended up in a family room with my sibling, my 2 elderly great aunts were put in a double and my great uncle ended up in a single room which was in the attic, she had no idea and obviously gave the rooms to all the wrong people despite me showing her my booking! The whole place smelt damp and was dirty throughout, the beds were disgusting as was everything else, couldn't wait to get out of that horrible old rundown awful 'guest house'

Good stay if you're not going to be spending much time in your hotel room as there was black mold and spider webs in my hotel room. Amenities were lacking and no room service or cleaning done for the entire stay. However, staff were very nice and helpful. Might go back.

Room was okay, although I had to ask for some of the handles to be cleaned as they were still sticky from the last occupant. Bed sheets were less than luxurious making me wonder if they were part nylon.

Room was okay, lots of staining on the door and a broken door into the bathroom. Bed was too small for someone over 6ft, and the toilet was too close to the shower to really sit on. No information given about breakfast or staff on hand to ask when I went down in the morning. No lockbox for returning keys just left on the desk.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I would absolutely avoid at all costs. We got to the room and there was a pubic hair on the windowsill and the toilet was not clean. I asked for a refund given the state of the room and they refused to refund me. So my money has been taken and the service was not provided. Avoid at all costs.

Hotel entrance smelt strongly of cooking upon arrival. Had to knock 3 times to get anyone out to check in, there was a bit of a language barrier as I could hardly understand her. Bed was clean and made up but the bathroom had mould and smelt of sewage. There was a constant bleeping every half an hour which kept me awake. Nice pub up the road though.

I stayed here a few years ago and my room was beautiful. This time I am so disappointed. The last staircase to my top floor room was steep and narrow with NO handrail....dangerous! Inside the tiny room was extremely shabby, wallpaper hanging off, dirty marks on walls by bed, in bathroom and by sink, a broken dark wood venetian blind which wouldn't open so I had to keep the light on. There were screws protruding from the wall above the sink in the bedroom. Hooks on wall with one hanger I couldn't reach because it was on the floor behind a table, one small dingy green towel, I asked for more and got another equally small dingy green one. The toilet was disgusting, brown limescale in the bowl and this morning I could see urine stains all around the base of the toilet, if I had looked last night I would have demanded another room or at least for somebody to clean it. No bedside lamp or means of turning the main one off from bed. When I took my shoes off I trod in a big wet patch on the carpet. Went to make my coffee before bed and there was no cup so I made it in the glass. Once in bed I noticed how draughty the window was, the road noise was awful and to top it all a really thin duvet and rock hard pillow! The whole place, including my top floor room smelled of burnt cooking oil and chines food. A horrible stay, I couldn't wait to get out of there this morning!!!!
