Lovely Pub/Hotel in a delightful village. The food and atmosphere were fantastic. Staff very friendly and obliging. If I had one criticism, it needs a bit of a touch up, lots of chipped paintwork and loose fittings, fixed a couple myself. But certainly didn’t detract from our stay.

Everything was excellent except the room servicing. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and meal service was v good. The only disappointments were the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The room needed vacuuming and the loo and shower needed a good clean. Also, cups, glasses and tea hadn’t been replenished. Oh, and when we returned from sightseeing on Sat evening we couldn’t get a space in the carpark as it was full of pub visitors. Would be good if they had spaces reserved for people staying in their rooms.

-Nice location -Nice old pub with character -Very friendly and helpful staff -Room very small, small double bed -Large waterfall shower no wand so couldn’t have a shower as didn’t want to get hair wet! -Kitchen extractor right outside our bedroom window (room 6) woke us up before 7am, very loud. Disappointed in early morning wake up was looking forward to a peaceful sleep with a child free night. -Breakfast included seemed to be a con. ‘Continental’ but only included croissant, cereal, yogurt. As lactose free we couldn’t eat anything! So had to pay for cooked breakfast. Large (£12) only included 1 sausage and 2 bacon. Overall conclusion- not worth £159 plus charges for hot breakfast. Unhappy with early wake up and not being able to shower.

Room was compact and clean. Tumble drier noise both nights. Staff are pleasant but busy, so wait times to be expected. Be aware if staying for work, breakfast commences at 8am.

Our stay was amazing and we stayed an extra night. Staff were so helpful and friendly, bar/rest spaces were incredible with open fire to warm the room. Fantastic bar snacks as we weren't overly hungry on arrival. Great free breakfast and the best coffee we'd had since being abroad. Room was super comfortable and beautifully finished and clean. Plenty of pillows and comfy bed. We just love this place. BTW - the play list of an evening was elite.
