Very surprised at the size of the property. Loved the "olde worlde" atmosphere with the modern amenities. Food and service in the restaurant superb. Room "olde worlde" and romantic, loved it. Staff welcoming, made us feel very comfortable. Will stay and/ or eat there again.

The Royal Oak is in a prime position near the centre and cathedral, lots of restaurants near by thought the food her is very good , good collection of beers and nice beer garden, the room on the top floor was clean and spacious though the tv reception poor and no bath plug, good views over the cathedral thought

Comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Everything clean. All staff were very helpful. Had dinner at the hotel which was also excellent. A major downside was being disturbed after midnight by very noisy drinkers in the hotel's outside area. Free secure parking was a bonus

Room was nice apart from TV didn’t work properly, Milk in the room was off , no plug for the bath or hairdryer or bottled water as stated . Wasn’t told or asked if we had parked ok luckily a gentleman out the back told us where to park and gave us the code . Service at breakfast was disappointing , lady serving was on her own and clearly needed help and came across as unapproachable when asking for anything!

We have been a number of time to this hotel alway excellent service and friendly staff the breakfast is always good and lots of choice. Hotel is right in the centre of Ripon very convenient for site seeing and restaurants. Will be back again.
