We found this a welcoming and restful place. The bed was comfy and the communal shower was the best. The kitchen was easy to use and breakfast laid out if we wanted it.
We really enjoyed our stay.

The tree Inn is a very traditional and historic inn located within the village centre. The building is split over a traditional horse and cart entrance with the pub on one side and the rooms on the other side. The pub isn't rowdy but if there was any noise it would remain quiet in rooms due to this separation. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the communal areas retain much of the original features of the building. Breakfast is provided within a breakfast room located within the inn side away from the pub. Evening meals if desired can be found in the pub itself. Although the pub itself doesn't have parking, there is a large and free village car park just down from the pub and it is possible to drive to the entrance of the pub to drop off and pick up bags. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I found the Inn to be an excellent place to stay. I particularly liked the historic charm of the building, the friendly, accommodating staff, the ability to use the pub which provides good quality meals, drinks and pool table as well as a log fire. I also thought the location was highly desirable being very close to Bude and the beach whilst being able to retreat to a much quieter location, away from the hustle, bustle and other tourists at the end of the day. Stratton itself is a peaceful and charming village which is worth a visit in its own right and provides that tranquility away from much busier Bude.

Do not stay here. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and the owner was incompetent - there was no apparent cause but for around an hour it kept tripping again so eventually I tried (without success) to sleep in my car. The hotel was dirty, no-one was available to help/serve breakfast etc, items such as milk in the kitchen fridge were out of date. It is a very old unmodernised property.

Lovely village, very friendly locals nearby Bude. Parking is offsite at a free car park and is easily accessible in a few minutes walk. Lovely old building with an old school pub and beer garden.
Breakfast was awful. It consisted of a, selection of moody cereals ( no milk), and a singular banana. Variety of spreads, but no bread. Dirty coffee machine and tea making facilities, again no milk… No one onsite working in the morning so we didn’t have anything to eat.
The gent that checked us in also misgendered my girlfriend on arrival. He walked over and said and I quote, ‘alright lads’. She wasn’t best pleased.
Room however, was decent.

This is more like a hostal AVOID
Firstly its advertised with parking but limited, no parking its street parking or a open air carpark that is not secure if you drive a work van.
Secondly its advertised as having a restaurant. Again no restaurant. Or any nearby.
Shared bathrooms down creaky hallways in a horrible state covered in spiders webs and roll down curtains giving no privacy wither side.
Bedrooms are basic NO TV and a rickety wardrobe. Again cobwebs around the room.
Very noisy room with poor internet connection.
Breakfast inc was help yourself hostal style with what was left over left out stale cereal. Then wash your own dishes.
WHEN I STAYED I LEFT COVERED IN BITES
I would not recommend or ever stay there again

Parking is extremely limited. The rooms share a bathroom. Only one bathroom has a shower. The breakfast is help yourself, cook yourself - but at your own risk. There are items open in the fridge without information about when it was opened. The milk was 10 days out of date and sour. A visit from EHO would be advisable. Be aware that the rooms have limited power sockets, ours had an extension lead trailing. There is also no TV. The restaurant was not open for our visit, but there was a bar food menu, but judging by the breakfast fridge we chose not to dine. Expensive for what we got, definitely not value for money, would not book again.

The Tree Inn is an absolutely stunning place. Warm , welcome and friendly. There is no parking which was a bit of a pain and due to the age of the building the floors are very uneven which is both amazing and makes you feel a bit drunk! Overall though gorgeous place and highly recommended.
