Warwick Lodge Guesthouse

Very comfy room, with a hot shower. Nicely decorated with lots of lamps providing pleasant lighting, with armchairs to loll in and read. Quite a grand building, with interesting decor throughout; paperback books in shelves. Breakfast was very good too.

Excellent location, lovely room, great host

From talking with other travelers I'm not sure this is the best Carlisle option, but it was quite nice. The house is lovely, though there are 3 floors so if you have heavy luggage you may one to request a lower one! Our room was at the top, two single beds, quite spacious, with a nice en suite. The breakfast was very good, and we had enough to make a small sandwich to take on the road as well. The landlady was sweet and helpful.

Wonderful stay at Warwick Lodge. The standard of the property, rooms and hospitality far exceeded my expectations. It's a short walk into town with a good choice of restaurants to choose from. I would definitely stay here again and a special mention to the owner who was very friendly and welcoming.

We had a wonderful overnight 'mother and daughter' stay. Caron is an amazing host and made us feel so welcome. We had a twin room (No 5) towards the top of the house. It was a very spacious room, beautifully decorated and had everything you needed including lovely comfy beds. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and decorated to a very high standard with some great art work. Caron made us feel at home and spent quite a while chatting with us. The cooked breakfast was first class. We had yogurt to start with and then a full english made with local products followed by toast with a selection of jams etc. The coffee was from a caffetaire and was wonderful as was the tea. The dining room is very large but felt so cosy and warm again wonderfully decorated. Warwick Lodge is in a great location for restaurants, bars, the castle, cathedral, shops and railway station. Parking is provided but this was not needed as we travelled by train and just a 10 min walk from the station. We had a wonderful stay, thank you Caron for everything.

Excellent host. Great night sleep. Wonderful breakfast, especially the selection of jams. Would definitely stay there again.

The owner, Caron quickly became my bestie. She keeps everything immaculately clean, communicates with the guests and you can tell she loves what she does! Towels were fluffy and soft, beds were comfy. Parking was a little tricky and if you can't park on site, she has parking passes that you can use. Please know that this is a lovely old Victorian home and therefore doesn't have an elevator. Breakfast was amazing! Caron provided cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, toast, juice and coffee or tea. You can ALSO order a hot breakfast along with everything mentioned. Caron is wonderful and I would definitely stay here again! Stores, and a golf course are all within walking distance. You won't be disappointed staying here!

A lovely old house a short walk from the train station and convenient to a number of restaurants and a great pub. The breakfast the proprietor makes is great.

Cool decor for an old schoolhouse. Great breakfast and we slept well in comfortable beds/room.
