This is an excellent, value for money hotel with friendly staff and good food, in a pleasant location. Will definitely stay again. The staff went above and beyond expectation and it had a really good old fashioned feel about it.

The hotel is tired and in need of refreshing. Our room was extremely hot, even the industrial fan provided did not help. No water was provided. The walls and carpet were marked and the furniture dated. The TV was completely in the wrong place to watch. The room only saved by refurbished bathroom with a good shower. We were told that no other room was available for duration of our stay. We had to book a slot for breakfast, which we felt was more for staff convenience. The breakfast was adequate, although very limited buffet choices. The position of the hotel on the river is lovely. It is such a shame as the hotel could be so much improved.

Location of hotel and food was great. However we were advised at check-in that there was an event that night that would continue till midnight. Loud is an understatement, had we been informed prior to the trip we would have considered alternative accommodation. It would have been a great review had it not been for the noise.

It was a very suitable location to visit family . We were disappointed by the tiredness of our “superior”room , for example window had to be propped open with wooden wedge , room was extremely plain and basic .

This is a nice 3* hotel, very good reception staff. The rooms have a safe and reception will provide a key. The parking is controlled by a third party so you must enter your car registration number each day to avoid a fine. The breakfast is ok, I am not sure if they have different breakfast chefs each morning but our Thursday breakfast was disappointing, poached eggs had to be returned due to not been cooked. Friday breakfast much better although in my opinion the filter coffee needs to be stronger.

Being right on the river, as my husband is a fisherman it was his utopia! Would have liked a different menu, the Sunday lunch was great, but more choices would be nice. Desserts were a challenge!

Given the location of our room I feel that a floor plan should be shown on the website as our room overlooked the car park and was directly over main entrance and reception and if I’d known I would have chosen a different room. The room itself was clean and presentable although a bedside clock would have been useful. On a personal basis we found the quilt on the bed too heavy and the bed itself a little on the soft side. We enjoyed our dinner we had there but felt the cold breakfast choices were limited. The staff were excellent, polite, and professional and overall would stay again

Lovely riverside location. Breakfast options very good and service. Dinner menu options okay and service slow when busy. Had to go and find waitress to give our main dinner options. Room was lovely and very comfortable. All hotel areas were well kept and clean Staff very friendly. We were not told in advance of our stay that there was a disco on the Saturday night. We usually sleep well but the noise was unbearable. It was underneath us and spoilt what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend.

For its age the property is in very good condition. The staff were very helpful and obliging. Check in and check out was very easy and quick. The food was excellent and varied. We have enjoyed our stay at the Waveney House and will certainly choose to stay there when we next visit that area again
