Clean and comfy. We stayed in a family room. Some discrepancies between what we booked on Expedia and what was sent through to the hotel, but was sorted by email and phone call in advance. Warm welcome and THE most amazing dairy free, gluten free complimentary brownies I've ever tasted. The room was lovely and just what we needed for a one night stop to break up a longer journey. Only slight issue was the noise from something the other side of the bedroom wall (some sort of low level generator/machine) but ear plugs helped at night. Possibly only an issue for light sleepers guests who are noise sensitive. Staff were very dog friendly but there is nowhere to walk the dog off-road and no poop bag bins. We didn't eat at the hotel but if the brownies are anything to go by I imagine it is lovely. Nice place to stay.

Excellent cottage hotel with lovely comfortable good size room with views of the countryside for a recent stay for work and has ample parking. There’s a lovely breakfast menu but I wasn’t able to try it as had to get to work in the morning. I’ll definitely recommend this hotel which is just 7 minutes drive from Dorchester town. Owner was lovely and makes you feel at home. Thanks

My wife and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Yalbury Cottage. Our only disappointment was that their restaurant was closed on Tuesday night but the Wise Man Inn in the next village proved an able substitute. The cottage is really in the heart of Dorset countryside and it was a real surprise to look out of our bedroom window and see Llamas grazing in the field. We did have dinner on Wednesday night and it did not disappoint starting with gorgeous canapés through to a fantastic dessert. Ten out of ten all round!

Mine was a solo stay for one Saturday night. It’s a lovely clean and comfortable room in a family run country hotel with friendly and generous hosts. I hadn’t booked a table in the restaurant and it was full to capacity but the chef made a delicious light meal for me which I ate in the lounge. Everything about my stay was exceptional.
