The breakfast set out for us everyday was amazing. The staff was very friendly and willing to provide information as to getting around the city. I'm staying again next year!

A very clean and comforting hotel with friendly staff. The owner asked us if it was hard to find and since we had a gps coordinate it wasn't hard and we saw a sign with Hotel Ahar directing us to the hotel. And since we also had a car we didn't have any problem with that the hotel was a bit away from the city. The lightning and decorations in hotel was very pleasant, breakfast was nothing special but we would definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel was really far away from everything but I think the most frustrating thing was that the 24hr front desk isn't actually 24 hours. It's only staffed during certain hours and if your bus or train is late and you don't have a way to contact them you're pretty much screwed with fining anybody around. I wouldn't stay there again. I spent so much on taxis that I may as well have stayed at a higher priced hotel closer in to everything. There's not even a restaurant withing 20 minutes walking

It is a very well run hotel with a family feel. The person who checked us in spoke English very well and went out of her way to give information and help. Again, we needed to leave early and asked for breakfast earlier than scheduled time. When we came down, full breakfast was ready.

After a struggle to find the place on entering advised that they accept cash only & that no restaurants in immediate area. So off to the ATM we go !Extremely small & cramped room & bathroom , had to leave to change your mind. Parking haphazard at best & the breakfast was simple but at the end adequate for our needs.

If you are looking to stay away from the rush of the city this is a great hotel. It is only a 500 m walk to the metro line connecting you in 25 min to the old town and 5 min to the Ilidiza area.

Good things: very clean, big room, quite close to the airport. Not so good things: we could not pay by card (cash only Euro or KM), no AC, location far from any facilities (restaurant, atm, city centre )

I wasn't expecting a lot before staying at Ahar, as I wasn't paying a lot, and I knew it isn't in the city centre of Sarajevo. However, I was still disappointed. The hotel's about 15 minutes' drive from the city centre, and if you don't have a car, you would have to take the tram which takes about 40 minutes (but the hotel staff told us it's 20 minutes, which is why we took the tram once). It's located in the middle of nowhere, and there are construction sites around and the train passes through right next to the hotel every night a few times, which makes it quite noisy. The 'breakfast' included in the hotel consists of a few pieces of ham, cheese, some dry bread rolls, a couple of cheese options, butter and honey. Not kidding, that's it. So disappointing! I would recommend staying in a downtown hotel rather than at Ahar. We had to pay for parking in the city centre as the tram was really not so convenient. Though it's quite cheap (around 1 euro an hour), you could easily avoid this if you stay centrally.

The hotel is quite nice, very new and clean and reminded me of family holidays as a child in Austria. The owner is really helpful and even gave me a lift to the station on my last day! The only two drawbacks are, there is no air conditioning (it wasn't unbearably hot but too hot for comfort) and it is very far from the centre (about half an hour by tram, which luckily stops not too far from the hotel) and is in an area of newly built family homes/ blocks of flats so a bit hard to find also for cab drivers - there are signs but it's a bit tricky the first time around. I did find it a bit scary at night although this was more due to my fear of dogs than my fear of humans! Breakfast (included) was continental which, as a German, obviousy appealed to me.

The Hotel Ahar is a nice, new hotel located a mile or so from the airport and a few miles from the city center. I stayed here with my girlfriend for 4 days and we loved it. Free breakfast, fast Wi-fi, TV's, and the staff even did our laundry for a tip. The owners are very friendly and are happy to point you to the sights in Sarajevo and surrounding areas. I would highly recommend the Hotel Ahar to anyone coming to Sarajevo.
