From the moment I arrived at The Reykjavik EDITION, I knew I was in for something truly special. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience that redefines luxury in the heart of Iceland. The sleek, modern design seamlessly blends with the natural beauty of Reykjavik, offering breathtaking views of the harbor and Mount Esja right from the comfort of my room. Every detail is curated to perfection: the rooms are a masterpiece of elegance, the linens cloud-like, and the heated floors a touch of magic on chilly mornings. The service is where this hotel truly shines—warm, intuitive, and always a step ahead without ever being intrusive. Dining at the hotel was an unforgettable journey of Icelandic flavors elevated to fine art. Whether you’re exploring the Northern Lights, relaxing in the spa, or simply enjoying the fireplace in the lobby lounge, The Reykjavik EDITION wraps you in comfort and wonder. It’s more than a five-star stay—it’s a memory etched in the soul. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Reykjavik!

Beautiful property. Was a wonderful stay. Bartender was very friendly and made great drinks. Would be nice to have an outdoor hot tub like some other higher end hotels we stayed in around the country.

The location is on the new harbour within easy walking distance of the centre (although frankly there are better hotels closer to the centre that represent better value), the rooms themselves are fine, and the breakfast buffet is very good. Unfortunately this is where the positives end, and it is hard to offer constructive criticism. This is supposedly a 5 star hotel. We booked one night, at a cost of approximately £680. As such this is certainly not a cheap or mid range hotel. I do not mind spending money on holidays, but anticipate and expect to receive a product or service commensurate with the price paid. The hotel has a rooftop bar with views of the harbour. Whilst the views are worth seeing the bar is open to non residents and was exceptionally packed. The problem is that when we went to bed at 11pm we could not sleep due to the high level of noise from the bar easily heard from our room two floors below. We could tell the bar closed at 1am, but then throughout the night at intervals were woken by loud noises in the corridor. On checking in there was a surprising wait of approx 30 minutes. We did ask for a late checkout, but were told we could not have a late checkout as the hotel is busy. That of course is a valid reason, but what we found unacceptable was the tone and manner of the reception staff - brusque bordering on rude. We had a drink at the ground floor bar, and then ordered another round. We had to cancel that order after 20 minutes.

The Edition was really nice, clean and was in a great location. We had a rental that averaged $28 a day. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The pillows were slightly flat but that is my only complaint about the room. They did give you 4 of them per bed thank god. The Tides Restaurant at dinner was just ok. We only ate there one night. The breakfast at Tides however was wonderful and the host was very friendly. Everyone there was very nice.

It is an excellent hotel with excellent customer service. The staff was amazing. They go above and beyond to help you and exceed your expectations. Food and drinks were great. One suggestion: there are many overnight flights from US and they arrive early in the morning. The hotel can do better with prioritizing and cleaning rooms to allocate those customers their room before 2pm.

Beautiful property, amazing location, friendly and professional staff, especially Monika. The room is very comfortable, modern and warm (important for Iceland in March). Just steps from Harpa, amazing restaurants, the shopping district and bus stop number four, which is very handy when doing tours.
