Everything was wonderful. The room was clean and spacious, all meals were provided which were very good and the staff was very gracious.

This is a superb hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in December and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The prison conversion has been accomplished to a very high standard with loads of original features incorporated: cast iron stairs, the chapel and even an isolation cell. The rooms were warm and comfortable, being decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was included at our rate and proved to be excellent with plenty of choice, including Finnish specialities. We ate dinner at the hotel on 2 occasions as it was included and suited our plans. It was a buffet and perfectly pleasant, but not exceptional. Fika (afternoon tea and cake) was a lovely touch and very welcome on a cold day. Staff were friendly, helpful and naturally spoke faultless English. The number 4 tram stops right outside and takes you directly to the city centre at least every 7 minutes.

A really great hotel all round - location (right on the tram route), facilities (lovely room, hotel history/theme) and everything included in the rate (breakfast/fika/dinner). The staff are really helpful and enthusiastic and nothing is too much trouble. Can't fault the whole experience - so glad we stayed here!
