Hotel de la Treille

Easy, friendly check in, was shown to the lift and told which way to go. Room was in the French style, on the 5th floor, with reduced height ceiling between the dormers, but which did not interfere with circulation. All the windows could be opened, and had permanent fly screening. Comfortable bed. Nice big en-suite bathroom. Espresso coffee machine, WiFi & TV. I declined housekeeping, and did not try the food as I was visiting family. There is a 24/7 grocery across the street, and various shops close by

I had booked a deluxe double room with a city view. When I arrived that afternoon, the reception clerk was extremely abrupt and rude to me, for seemingly no reason except he appeared overworked. He walked me to my room on the rear of the main entry level. The only window in the room overlooked and was on the same level as the patio of the next brasserie. Clearly not a city view. I went back to the clerk and calmly said that this was the deluxe room with a city view that I had reserved. He said they were fully booked and that was only room available. I calmly stated again that it was not what I reserved. He found a room on the next floor up. It faced an interior courtyard and was smaller, very tight. I decided it was useless trying to argue with him. I left for the afternoon Realizing I would get nowhere with him. When I returned, he was checking a large our group. So certainly there was a room he could given me before they arrived. But it was more his officious attitude toward me that most disturbing. He should have apologized for the lack of the room that I had reserved and offered some type of compensation - a free breakfast, etc. Nothing. The clerk the next day was the opposite - kind and friendly. I would be careful when booking here. You may not get the room you reserved, and you may treated rudely by their staff.

Jewel of an apartment. It is about 15 minutes from the train stations on foot. It is close to shopping and old Lille. The beds were comfortable and the toilet was large and well organized. I would definitely stay here again (it is my second time).

We had an excellent stay. The staff was really nice and friendly. Located in the centre of Old Lille, which could not have been better. Clean and comfortable room. They hold the luggage for us after check out and let us stay in the lobby. Would definitely recommend.

The staff were excellent. All of them. Superb. The reception area is welcoming. The hotel is centrally located and very clean. I would have liked my complimentary bottle of water to be replaced when the room was cleaned and, with there being so many streets, a local central map would have been useful. These are however minor things. The hotel is excellent, welcoming and i will definitely stay again.

Excellent location in the heart of Vieux Lille. Charming hotel with a nice renovated lobby. Small room up the tower - 3 flights of stairs- but a nice view on the back of the cathedral. No coffee or tea in the room. Nice staff and overall a good experience.

Lovely hotel in a very beautiful part of Lille. Staff here was so friendly and sooo helpful! Definitely would recommend this hotel to any travelers in France!

Really nice hotel. Very well located in the old town and easy walk from Lille Europe and Lille Flanders train stations. Also has parking nearby. Lots of restaurants and bars very close. Very friendly and helpful staff on reception 24hrs a day.

Very friendly and perfectly situated between the old and new town. Single rooms well priced - small and a little dark but a great view.

Excellent venue for “old” town.

Hotel very clean. Nice complimentary body wash and shampoo (l'Occitane). Unfortunately the room (double) was a bit pokey which meant that to get anywhere you have to shuffle around. No air con so little control over temperature of the room. Despite being advertised as having a desk, this was not the case. There would have been no room in the room to include a desk. There was something like looked like a quarter-sized bureau with no chair... perhaps that's what they meant. Also no kettle. Due to the small size of the room, the wardrobe was half size deep and couldn't really hold any clothes.
