Belves is a beautiful medieval village, and Clement V a great place to stay. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We stayed for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding nearby, and as we were unlucky with the weather, they allowed us to borrow an umbrella, and also gave help with the best place to park in Belves with the local weekend markets going on at the same time. It would have been nice to be offered a cooked breakfast, as I felt 12.70 Euros per person to be erring on the expensive side for a selection of yoghurts and pastries.

The hotel is well appointed, the rooms large, and the Proprietor, who spoke excellent English, was very helpful. The room we had, admittedly the cheapest option, had a strange layout, with the toilet across a small double bed from the rest of the bath. Worst of all, there was only a tub, 3 feet off the floor, with a handheld shower nozzle-- which is hard for an older couple. Also, the location was many long, winding, 2-lane roads from most of the sights you come to the Perigord to see. As we had booked on Expedia, there was no option for changing of hotels without the loss of our advance payment.
