It is a pleasant hotel although only 2 star. Well maintained. Well located close to old port. Only problem was lack of air conditioning so room unbearably hot (we stayed during the heatwave)

This was a last minute booking after a busy cycling day, and it was like an oasis for me. They have a closed patio where you can safely park your bike. I loved the original decoration of the hotel and the room, and the extremely welcoming staff. Breakfast was simple but good. Location was awesome, at walking distance of everything.

Excellent location. Very helpful friendly staff - without exception. The concierge, Karim, told about the free car parking which is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the Hotel and not only is completely safe it saves you a fortune in parking fees. Top tip - ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you are a light sleeper.

A quirky hotel with styling going back to the seventies. Friendly staff, we were able to check in early as our rooms were ready which made life a lot easier. The bedrooms are a bit tired but comfortable with a balcony overlooking a courtyard, ideal if you are there in summer months. The hotel is well located to explore the old port of La Rochelle and about a 20 minute walk from rugby stadium. Public parking at the top of the street and a market at the other end. Slight mistake with bill at checkout but resolved satisfactorily.

The hotel is well situated in La Rochelle, and very handy for the town and the harbour. The reception was friendly and efficient, and the room clean and reasonably comfortable. I do feel that a hand held shower is not adequate, however. But the hotel suited us, as it was only for a single night as a rest and a break from the driving north. Imagine our dismay, then, when what appeared to be a staff dinner and birthday party was in full swing when we returned from our meal at around 10.30pm. There were around two dozen guests, loud music and a lot of cheering and singing. The noise went on until well after midnight, and kept my partner awake till around 1am. Not great when you have a long drive in front of you the following day. We tried to shut the noise out, but even with the shutters closed, the windows shut and pillows over our heads, you could still hear the noise. And to cap it all, breakfast was wholly inadequate. Stewed coffee, no orange juice, stale pastries - I could go on.
