Absolute one to avoid. The worst hotel I even visited. Except good reception service, all others get negative score. Dirty bedsheet, old facilities. People talking, laughing loudly until 3am in the public area, no staff even try to stop this.

We stopped in Caen on our way to the ferry - wanted to do some shopping at Mondeville. Excellent location - just on the site of the shopping park, plenty of parking, room a bit bigger than usual ibis Budget - and VERY clean!

Ibis Budget is exactly what is claim to be. It’s cheap and easy to check in. Constructed, as per its class, in very economical form; everything is functional. This hotel is now beginning to show its age - wear and tear is obvious. It was clean enough and seemed to be COVID safe. The internet was really slow. Typical of this region, hotels and chain restaurants are grouped together on the fridges of the city - another such precinct exists near Caen-Memorial. I would (and did) try other budget options on successive nights and found them to be superior, at an equivalent price.

Convenient location surrounded by retail park. We stayed to break up a long drive between Brussels and Mont St.Michel. The two person lift stopped working on the morning that we left but it wasn't a problem as there are only two upper floors in the hotel.
