AWA Hotel

Property itself was excellent although room provided was very small. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided plenty options, however only cooked option was eggs. Surrounding area not great. Several XXX shops and late night takeaways close on same street. Didn’t feel safe. Because of that, would not recommend unfortunately.

We have stayed in three other hotels in Munich. Unfortunately they were booked and we quickly looked for a room for the night bc our flight was canceled. This part of town is not very appropriate for families. Many gentlemen clubs and sketchy people lined the streets. Our room had stains on the carpets and walls. There was a hole in the wall by the headboard. The filthy carpet was not good for my health and the management could care less until I had a lovely person at Expedia help us. If you like strip clubs and dirty rooms for a very high, nightly rate this is the place.

Staff was veey quick and efficient even during oktoberfest check in, location is great for the wiesn and for marienplatz

Excellent location.

Excellent breakfast. Choices of cooked eggs, including scrambled, omelette, fried and boiled (with real bacon!). Great selection of foods. Really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff. 5 min walk to Munich Central Station platforms as well as hop on/off bus tours. Plenty of restaurant options all within 2-10min walks (including whole world of train station eateries and shopping).

Family of 5 with teenagers. All enjoyed it. Clean. Simple. Updated. Surprisingly good breakfast buffet. I’d stay here again.

The area directly surrounding the hotel is under construction and not as nice, however, the Central Station is a block away and very convenient. The staff was wonderful. The room was clean but the carpet and curtains were heavily stained and felt dated.

Really loved the breakfast and friendliness of the staff, along with attempts to be eco friendly. But there were some little details in the room I wish someone had noticed. The mini bar wasn’t fully stocked (we didn’t want it, but didn’t want anyone thinking we’d taken anything) and the toiletry kit in the bathroom was half empty (and a half used item was left in there… it had been ripped open). While I loved the overall experience and I didn’t want to complain I wish those little details would’ve been checked. Overall a good hotel and good experience though.

Probably the best hotel breakfast I've had in my life, with super fresh fruit, delicious coffee, incredibly buttery and fresh croissants, huge variety. Also, being able to request early checkin was very convenient, and the front desk was able to call me a taxi on the way back. Location is central/easy walking distance from everything in Munich. Great stay.

when asked for a glass for wine, the employee says with a smile that they don't have any, and that there is a bar next to it and plenty of glasses. This is the first time in the whole of Europe that I have had such a situation.

At arrival they said that the breakfast was not included by it was…

On the plus side, the hotel itself and staff are great. Also, there are many good dinning options nearby. On the negative side, there was lots of construction on the street. Although there was no noise at night, foot traffic was rerouted which made it inconvenient given that we were carrying luggage. Also, we saw some unsavory businesses in the area which seemed inappropriate for having family around.

BEWARE! We discourage any traveler from staying at this hotel and warn you that you may face charges that you never accrued. Our check in started pleasantly with the evening clerk ( approx 7pm) who welcomed ALL 3 OF US, gave us our keys and confirmed we were PAID IN FULL. The next morning things became sketchy and unpleasant. We had the unfortunate luck of asking Ludwig Wolf a question and when he looked up our reservation he accused us of lying on how many people were staying in the room. He stated that our minor daughter was an adult and that we owed more mo. We became very suspicious and told Ludwig if that was the case to have his manager contact us via our private phone or the hotel phone. We returned that night received no private call or hotel message. We again left in the morning and watched as Ludwig scowled and stared at us. Again no phone call from the manager. On our last day we left as Ludwig was having a conversation with a worker- we again were not asked to speak to a manager and we consider our stay paid in full as the night clerk stated on night one. Approximately 3 hours after leaving Ludwig Wolf sent a threatening email accusing us of knowingly leaving and taking items from the mini-bar. The fridge was putrid and so disgusting we wouldn't even store meds in it so I guarantee you we did not take anything from it. We again asked for a manager to call us. The manager sent us an email threatening to call the cops!! Hotels.com had to step in due to threats!

Room was ok, receptionist (middle age uncle) was kind and helpful, however the younger one is less helpful when approached during the stay. Disappointed with their bar lounge though, of the 3 days we stayed only open 1 day, the young receptionist claims he don’t know what’s happening. Kinda weird response. Breakfast so-so only, previously stayed a street away, their breakfast was much much better with comparable price tag.

Good service, small rooms but sufficient. Great location.

We stayed during opening weekend of Oktoberfest. It was comfortable enough and satisfactory breakfast. The hotel is a little dated, showing wear and tear. There were some repairs and building maintenance happening throughout the building. The streets are more occupied throughout the day all the way to late night. There are strip clubs right next door and pubs, so a lot of loitering. Convinient location to travel from, being it close to the Central Station. Walkable area and nearby many places.

Friendly staff got us quickly checked in. Hotel was close to the Oktoberfest grounds which was important. Good breakfast next morning.

I had the penthouse with a private balcony. Very nice.
